hey /diy/ i just got rid of my bed and couch in my room, then i got a futon instead and now i have alot of extra space, any ideas of what i can do to make it look cooler?

You've traded two things that are comfortable for one thing that is going to become very uncomfortable. A futon is what you get in college because you don't know better. No one is going to be impressed by your room because it now holds a futon.

Get plywood or some sort of thick padding to enforce the heck out of the futon. Use those zip strips to hold it to the frame. Cargo Netting on the ceiling for more storage and shit. Get memory foam, cut to folding dimensions of your futon, attach both pieces at ends so as to flip them away when using as a couch. Get projector for $30 at Best Buy, use to project pictures, video, what have you on wall or ceiling. Lasers for those with no fear of blindness. Mirrors for more space illusions. Go hog wild, just try to imagine explaining what you did to a) your parents b) housemates c) girl/boy friend d) the police.
