Hey guys, summer is here and i am wondering if you can suggest some fun projects to try. I am thinking of making a hollowed out book sometime. Any other cool projects like that?

Now, assuming OP isnt fishing for hate, I personally like the idea of a hollowed out book, Ive always wanted to try it. Just take a look around the boards, there are plenty of great threads here, particularly the lighbulb terrarium one. Lately Ive been fixing shit around the house, like my DVD player which had a few indented buttons. Im also working aon a backlit GBA player made from an old phat DS

The hollow book is pretty solid. I've already made one and I'm on making a second and third. They take a lot of time to make (between 7 and 10 hours of solid page carving depending on how straight you want the edges to be and how deep the book is)

I use it to hold my Kindle (I know, bring on the hate) and if you measure the dimensions and get a large enough book, you can form fit if to almost anything for protective carrying

Also, if you think the book is going to get a lot of handling (I keep the book in my backpack) put some velcro on it so it doesn't come undone every 10 minutes like mine does.

You should not use Elmers it will yellow really easy and lose its tack in a short amount of time. You can get PVA glue at an art store and it will look better and hold longer.
