There is a lot of discussion of indoor growing, nano hydro, nano aqua, tiny greenhouses, cool plant pots etc....on /diy...that you can't prevent from applying to weed. It's just a plant.....they ain't gonna ban all discussion of anything agriculture related just because it might be used for weed....just threads that're 'how do I cook meth' etc.

Growing shit under LEDs or in such a tiny space is lame - a worthwhile pot will take up half of the case.

First off, i never said a thing about weed. Second, until my last post i didn't say a fucking thing in this thread. Im all for growing IMHO its better than buying it from the government unless you have a friend you know who grows it himself. Either way, this thread is about a computer unit some person turned into a GROW BOX. its not specific to basil or weed or growing fucking meth, its a box with a light and fan, make it yourself and put whatever the fuck you want in it. This actually sounds like a really cool project and a good idea. I have 3 old towers from past computers and no back yard... fucking apartment.
Anyway... Basil, cilantro, peppermint would all work... but can you talk about how you went about mounting light bulbs inside the tower, also, what wattage, and what kind of bulb works best? Don't want to toast the little guys...

If you use blue LEDs, it'll cost far less in the long run, use less energy, won't need mirroring/whatever, and won't overheat.
There's no particular reason to use a computer case other than the cool factor, especially if you don't need to reflect light....just have plants open in the apartment, they're good for you.
