And when the allspark gets in contact with these we are fucked :<

>> No.19807

do you weld them or glue them?

>> No.19809

If you'd done this in 1999 and called them y2k bugs, you'd be a millionaire today.

>> No.19823

Pretty awesome. Excuse my arts and crafts newbishness, but what kind of glue did you use to put those together.

>> No.19824

Please tell me more.

Also, I really like your idea.

>> No.19840

You should magnetize the feet.

All solder (welded) with lead/tin and sealed with clear nail polish
http://www.instructables.com/id/Computer-Bugs/ I did way back in 2007

>> No.19875

>>19809
Actually I did start making them back then
Problem is it's tedious work and I can only do so many at a time.

>> No.19907

This is super duper cool, would totally buy these little guys.

As a fellow scavenger-artist, I salute you. Hope this piece of mine is relevant to your interests.

this

Also, got an old and broken computer. I sure am NOT going to do this since I am trying to repair the computer.

>> No.23450

>>23421

why the fuck would you post in a thread solely to say that you're not doing the thing talked about in the thread

that's like going to an AA meeting and saying "oh yeah, i totally agree! oh by the way i've never tasted alcohol"

>> No.23475

>>23450
Because I can.

>> No.23519

The parts I used, like a 2400bpm modem, was useless to everyone I know. The components on them, resistors. capacitors would be useful to me if I did electronics. Nothing that could be repaired that was useful was actually trashed.

>> No.23531

>>23475
just because you CAN make shitty posts and fag up the board doesn't mean you SHOULD, or that anyone is somehow obligated to not hate you for doing so

>> No.23569

>>23531
Hate me as much as you want, that doesn't mean I can't tell I think about it.

Also, you're an asshole.

>> No.23594

Those are cute, OP.

Also, did the board just change colour...

>> No.23606

Those are pretty awesome looking.
Hey if you're looking for parts, I'm sure there's lots of people who will give you their broken shit for free if you offer pick up.

Also, make a centipede. Those are badass.

>> No.25330

I don't have a lot of room to store many more pieces of junk. I was disappointed today as to the amount of parts in the 2 printers I stripped. A centipede would use up quite a few small diodes or resistors, it's something I'll think about.

>> No.25349

>>23450
not to be excessive dramatic and cause butthurted tripfags, but, this is a terrible analogy.

>> No.25353

>>23531
>>23569
ok.
i'm reporting you two for excessive faggotry.

>> No.25376

>standard resistors and capacitors still used everywhere
>obsolete

Those look cool but I'm not sure obsolete is the correct word for the scavenged parts.

>> No.25406

That's so cool I gotta try it some time.

Each? Or in a group lot?

>> No.27913

>>27448
Some locals have paid $6.50 each, I usually sell them for a lot less but I had some in a store on commission were I got $5 out of the $6.50. I was thinking of doing sets of 3 for $12 on etsy or is that too much or not enough? Also tried a few critters.
