Hello frens

I've been working as a carpenter for a couple of years now and have pretty much everything I find myself wanting tool-wise other than a framing nail gun and a table saw. I figured I would get the nail gun first since I would be able to haul it around easier and probably get more use out of it. What would be your go to for a framing nailer being used daily and then tossed in the back of a pickup? My coworkers recommend a Hitachi, now Metabo. Pic related is what I would be purchasing, unless any of you have other suggestions? Something that surprised you? If there is a cheaper option that performs just as well I wouldn't mind not spending $300

The nr83 is the gold standard, though I prefer coil for framing myself. Paslodes not bad, and bostitch made some tanks. I recommend searching your local pawnshops before dropping cash on a new gun. At worst they might need some new seals, which are easy enough to change yourself.

Love these for metal framing. Fuck popguns and air hoses.

For lathing the staple guns we used were Senco. The rest were trash. Not sure if they make framing nailers and if so if they're any good.

Hitachi/Metabo HTP is time proven for cost/durability, else get a Senco.

Does anyone use battery powered nail guns? it would be great if I didn't have to use a compressor but the ones I've used don't drive the nails as well

Have battery powered trim nailer (dewalt).
Love it.

Yes, I know that milwaukee does, and I'm pretty sure dewalt does, too.

Yes, but it's far slower and doesn't drive nails as well as Metabo or Milwaukee.
