I have a genius idea to make my own lighter combining zippo and clipper. I have a few basic household tools and a battery powered drill. Can anybody give me some tips when it comes to DIY lighters

A Zippo is a lighter.. what's with all the combining? I'm hella confused

Are you going to call it a clippo or a zipper, that's the first thing you need to decide.

Well i take the characteristics of both lighters and i combine it in something to my taste

Well ziper is kinda taken to probably clippo will be engraved, but lets first make it. The name will come naturally

Ive seen mini clippers, probably be your best bet. Regularly ones won't fit inside the zippo lid

zippo makes butane inserts now

That would be smart but i still have to somehow stabilize it isnide the case

Is butane or gas better?

Little late man, it already exists. They also have soft flame butane alternatives too

What do you mean exactly?
Are you attempting to scratch build every part?
Are you thinking of swapping parts of two lighters making a "Franken-lighter?

What are "household tools"?
(I'm thinking a can opener and toilet plunger)

Please be a bit more specific, I've seen a case made using the hinge and internals of a Zippo, but that was in a full machine shop. It turned out to be chunky, having been a milled block rather than drawn sheet.

Most likely "Franken-lighter" but if needed i can find parts. For now general idea is like a clipper with zippo case but much more elengant
I have a battery powered drill, hammer, screwdriver, pencers, weld(when you melt silicone between 2 metal parts to stick them)

You're not really "making" your own lighter, then.
You're just assembling a hodgepodge of parts that won't fit together.
You really don't have the tools or skills to do this.
Clipper lighters are gas, best case 2nd and 3rd degree burns, worst BLEVE.
