Never made a mould/poured resin before.

I'm making a lego piece in 10/1 scale (pictured). I am 3d printing the piece to make the mould around. I'm going for a translucent magenta colour.

What tips would you give for my first time? The bottom doesn't need to be perfect, would you say my best bet is to suspend the piece upside down from the top with a spur in the middle?

your mold and therefore your casting is going to pick up the lines from your 3dprint. smooth it out like glass before you make ur mold with it

Just buy a cheap resin printer like a mars or a photon and print the piece directly. That or look up cosplay casting tutorials. You have to do a lot of post processing on the positive to make good molds.
