Ugh, this campaign is going about things the wrong way.
Saying "derp get this guy, EVERYTHING IS UNDER HIS RULE" is akin to saying terrorism is over since Osama Bin Ladden was killed.

Seriously, this issue is too large to be assigned a single face. Besides, Invisible Children reaps profits from their work and gives only 32% to actual charity: the rest goes to making overhyped, overpriced films and empty "awareness" campaigns that actually work with the corrupt Ugandan military groups that want to keep this shit in place.
Know what you're standing for before you start spewing this shit.

simple blank Avery office labels should work too.
come in a lot of sizes. can also run those through a printer.
print designs you create on the computer or find on the interwebs.

probably won't hold up outdoors in bad weather for too long though.
maybe use clear packing tape over the label sticker as a "laminate" to help them last a bit longer?

CONSTRUCTIVE criticism - Constructive criticisms are often suggestions for improvement - how things could be done better or more acceptably. They draw attention to how an identified problem could be solved, or how it could be solved better.

You aren't giving negative criticism, you're just being a dick. Not everyone knows exactly what to do right off the bat, it's a LEARNING process.

The ones with a bunch of islands can still be cut, it just takes a little bit of forward thinking while cutting it. As opposed to cutting out ~all~ the negative space, you have to "imply" certain details like hairlines and whatnot, and leave the rest up to the viewer's mind to complete. So what if they envision an 18 tentacled bear after the detail that you implied, the truth is, most people will see hair where a hairline has been defined.

>>173865

>>173896

I did it, here, just to see if it could be done and make a semi-passable result. There's more than one way to skin a cat, this is "technically" art, so there really is no bounds to what you can do, creatively. Anybody who tells you otherwise is an idiot.

This is /diy/. When "doing it yourself," some things require critical thinking and planning, and if that isn't your deal, you might want to look into getting some help from someone who "gets it."

I know most people come here an ask about storage container ideas and projects that will never be completed due to lack of funds or motivation, but there are some seriously knowledgeable and helpful people here. Don't let some dumb butthurt, untalented cunt tell you that you can't do something because you don't do it his way.

Be creative, and HAVE FUN.

Normally you're cutting the black, so I inverted the picture in photoshop. You Obviously can't cut the ENTIRE "Paul Baribeau" square out, or else it'd fall out.

The white space on the R's, and A's will need bridges, as well as the center of O.

Just think practically, is something going to fall out if you cut it all the way out? If yes, then leave a bridge... or two... or three. Too many looks like shit, so... y'know?

50 bucks seems a little bit steep, dont you think?

>> No.174436

Oh, it IS steep. I had to pick my jaw up when I went looking for the shit the first time. A hundred sheets will do a lot of work, though. I've used about 60 since the original Stencil thread, I've done most every one that has been posted. I just wanted some serious practice, I'm surgical accurate with an exacto, now, needless to say.

Anyways, It's the best thing to use. It's reusable as a stencil, easy to cut, and it's not going to get soft like paper stencils and whatnot.

PRACTICE on paper, you don't want to fuck up too many times at .50$ a sheet, you know? There has to be alternatives, but I was hasty and wanted to get to work.

>My band jam space is in a storage complex
>first dibs on any left behind shit
>got shitloads of already printed overhead cutouts
>acetone off bullshit when need to use
>profit.

There must be a cheaper alternative, though, I agree.

It would work for one-time use stencils, but if you want to spray it multiple times, paper just doesn't cut it. (HAHAHAHAHA.)

If you want perfect lines, you can cut on STICKER paper, cut out your negative space, stick it, spray it, and peel it for a defined and perfect lines. Once, again, one time use.

Acetate/overhead projector deals in printer sizes are really the only way I can think of to get reusable stencils.

It's funny because you and me have like opposite problems.

For instance, I don't like to use acetate because it dulls my blades quicker and I'm not able to get detailed enough cuts. Maybe my acetate was too thick? Idk, but paper works great for me, has for years.

Perhaps I'm exaggerating. 5 uses isn't bad, but... if I'm spraying a lot, Acetate/mylar will get me as many as I want. You can just acetone off the paint and get it back to clear, if so inclined.

I cut that Golgo13 stencil with all the islands on computer paper, sprayed it once, and it seems fine. I'll shoot it many times over the next couple days just to see how many I can get before it gets unusable physically, or my lines start to get soft.

>>174658

I change blades often, it's akin to sharpening a pencil. Dull isn't an issue. If you want to get longer use out of blades, get a fine bench stone and give it a few passes in some oil to hone it back... strop it afterwards. I'm kind of a faggot, so I just toss them into my "used sharps" section, and if I ever need to cut something that isn't so exact, the rest of the blade is perfectly useable. Every time I'm out, and I just so happen to walk by the blade aisle, I grab a pack or two. Two bucks on top of whatever I'm going to buy doesn't hurt my feelings.

I also use single edged razors, a hundred of them is like four bucks at Harbor Freight, HF is great for disposables. Cheap, sharp, and at roughly .02 cents a blade, you can't go wrong. They're harder to maneuver, but once you get used to it... easy a pie.

Those overhead sheets are thin, but not ~too~ thin... if you find some for cheap, grab 'em and try.

if you have a photo you can turn it into a stencil:

open image in photoshop- for best results use magnetic lasso and cut out everything in the background not wanted to be in stencil.

then go to Image - Adjustments- Threshold- and then just play with the levels.
