It's plastic. Rip it apart, get appropriate plastic paint, paint. It'll fill scratches etc no problem, they're very shallow usually on plastic, unless someone took a knife to it or something stupid.

I did it with my PS3 Slim since I had it apart to replace the drive eye anyways. Just used I think Rustoleum brand glossy red/orange paint on the top cover, left the rest black. Looks decent enough.

If you want the best absolute finish I suggest running a chemical analysis on the paint to figure out what paint exactly it is. Then use an airbrush to fix up your scratches. Then buff with the finest buffing pads youve got.

Also for the warranty seal, take a heat gun to it slowly. so you can remove it and put it back on no issue

consider if you are going to paint it you might as well have started with a black one. don't ruin this if its special

Did you mean to try to restore it? You're fucked m8. It's not paint on those, it's the color of the plastic if it's anything like the blue special editions. Might be able to sand it down a bit and then buff the shit out of it, basically scrape a layer of plastic off until the scratches are gone similar to how you'd fix clear coat on a car.

Could I guess try spraying clear coat on it then buffing the shit out of the clear coat. Might fill the scratches. Sounds like more effort than it'll ever be worth though.

I have to ask;
Why would you even care? It still functions properly, right?

If it’s painted, go to a automotive auto body supply store and get it color matched.

If that’s the color of the plastic well just let it be.

Paint is the last option you want to use. To remove scratches, you'll need to sand the surface with higher & higher grits, compound, then polish & finally wax. This is of course for a glossy finish.

Thanks for all the tips
