I drove across town to Harbor Freight to pick up my 17th free multimeter (I'm able to measure DC volts now, so long as the thing has black and red wires that match mine), and while I was there I burned a 20% off coupon on an oil filter wrench. Pic related is my cousin's BMW; she said she'd let me stay for supper if I changed the oil.

Hey I finally checked out the new one they opened closer to me. Tried to return that snapped wobble extension, they wanted me to have the whole set. I think they woulda given it to me if I chimped out but I don’t really want another shitty extension that will break so quick when I can get a better quality one for <$10.

I don’t go near base model BMWs with ///M badges on them... anymore.

Oh and I think I’m going to grab them Channellocks oil filter wrench one day but there’s 3 sizes and my Walmart one still works and I use the little 3-claw ratchet adapter 95% of the time because it goes anywhere on a flex head ratchet and grips well. Maybe I’ll get the 3-pack for max machismo.

Touting to everyone how much you care about the lifetime warranty on HF tools, and how great they are that youll never need to use it.
Yet when the time comes you give up and dont and return it?

If it were me, id trade the set in and get a brand new one. Then go return the unopened set at the other HF for a full refund. Then I would learn my lesson and quit thinking that HF is an equal quality tool that doesnt cut corners.

I never really say “go with the cheapest tool since you can replace it anyway!” That’s half the other people on this board and /o/. I’m all about the mid-grade Taiwanesium. I hate running to the store 3x in the middle of a job, and that includes breaking a cheap ass tool.

I think when I got those extensions, I didn’t even realize they were wobble extensions until I got home. And I haven’t bought much from HF in awhile unless it’s little expendable stuff like heat shrink assortments or super cheap crap that I’m ok with them being super cheap. Those axle nut sockets have a 4.9 rating though so I don’t think that was a horrible buy.
