What are the differences between Husqvarna and Stihl?
Do they feel different?
Can you tell them apart from the sound alone?

I wore a tiny flannel shirt wrapped around my sweaty torso with chest hair exposed like David Hassehoff, and a tiny pair of cut off jean shorts so small my testicles swung around like a pair of wrecking balls while using my Stihl and everyone called me a faggot, I would definitely recommend the Husqvarna.

Stihl is shit. Really all you need to know

This is basically /diy/ in a nutshell.

I actually agree but they are still better then the garbage Stihl is pushing out these days. Echo are probably the best bang for your buck today

Unless you're working way out in the field away from electricity, you should be using a battery powered electric chainsaw, not a noisy, finicky, polluting two-stroke gasoline one.

Husky from a dealership is the truth. Husky from the Homeless Despot, or any other big box stores for that matter, is shit, even if it's the same model number. Husky even admits to this on their website.

Personally I have a Stihl MS271 Farm Boss with an 18" bar, and a Stihl FS90 trimmer that are God Tier. They won't die.

My Redmax backpack blower is also God Tier. That thing has been nothing but dead reliable since the day I got it like 10 years ago.

And buy couple grand worth of batteries, because one battery lasts for like 15 minutes of continuous work, and after a couple of years buy a new saw, because the batteries are discontinued and the new ones won't fit your old tools, even though the only difference between them and the old ones is a small plastic tab, which makes it impossible to fit new battery into old tool

>>1592115
They're both good, one is better than the other in some regards, but the differences are so minute it basically boils down to personal preference, or which dealership is the closest to you

yeah you can tell by sound
the stihl is stihl running

Speaking as someone who owns a battery powered electric chainsaw, they're for occasional light use. If you use a chainsaw for jobs bigger than cleaning up an occasional fallen tree, you use gas.

>> No.1592568

>>1592115
Depends on the job. There is a cheap husky that doesn't have a b&c oil flow adjuster (240 I think), avoid that one and they're both good brands. I prefer the feel of stihls cut, but I like husky start, throttle, and choke buttons/config better. Put a skip tooth chain on and keep it sharp.

Their both overpriced and running on their brand recognition.

Buy a jap echo.

They feel very different, they sound different, they are both pretty good
That's all you need to know
I own Stihls and I prefer them but I have worked with other people's Husqvarnas

Don't

It's not pronounced still it's pronounced more like styll

Stihl over Husqies. In my experience, Stihl feels more powerfull and better balanced when using equivalent saws. The 70cc pro edition Husqie vibrates less then it's Stihl counterpart if I recall correct. I also prefer Stihl in maintainance. Have to admit, unfortunately, that ever since Stihl started chipping their saws, overall quality deteriorated. Treesurgeon-anon here.

I got my fathers 20 year old Stihl. We recently replaced the chain oil pump, other than that it is all original, still runs like a champ. I'll bet my left nut you would not be able to say that about an electrical chainsaw.

>> No.1592870

>>1592602
That's a big tree.

>> No.1593055

The differences between husky and Stihl are pretty negligible. I've worked for a couple tree work guys who all agree that the better option is the one with the better local service shop.
That said, those were pros who use their stuff all day every day. For the home owner or occasional user, I'd recommend echo.

>> No.1594112

I have owned saws, blowers, and string trimmers from both brands.
All are quality tools.
But I prefer Husq, because the Stihls were all hard to start.

you can get parts for the stihl

On a saw that old you would have replaced the dogs, handles, fuel lines, fuel and oil cap o-rings, etc. if you were using it often enough.

>> No.1594521

>>1594164
The cap o-rings are pretty busted, that's true. It's been used non-professionally but still quite alot.
