We could just glue everything together end to end, it's quicker, easier and there's less chance of a fuck up.
But there's satisfaction in a lovely looking joint you've made yourself.
Plus it's a stronger connection if you're only about mechanics than aesthetics.

If you are going to go high-end,
You are going to need a jamb-saw and a few other minor tools.
