Dyna-glo lpfla125wh. 70,000 to 125,000 but. Can I use a regular propane grill tank for this or should I upgrade to a bigger tank. I live in Michigan and it's for a 800sq ft garage.

>> No.1523402

If it's anything like the kerosene ones these are fucking annoying in the shop if you have anyone over. It is ridiculously loud

>> No.1523406

>are fucking annoying

the propane exhaust is not as bad as the kerosene, but they all suck. however, when the shop is 30 deg F, you run it anyway.

Yeah the heat is nice but the sound can be a bit much if you want to talk over it. Down to a radiant kerosene heater and woodstove which does keep it warm

I'd say a 20 pounder would last about 4 hrs on high

Yeah, a 20 pounder will work, expect about an 8 hour burn time per tank. I have a 16,000 BTU and get 20-22 hours burn time per tank.

A 20 pound tank will work and it will last for days.
It is not so loud to be annoying

>Is city gas not propane?

depends on the city. in america, natural gas and propane (aka LPG) are not the same. you have to change your regulators and valves and burner jets to switch from one to the other, but most things can use either.

No
City gas is natural gas that has been refined

There are several gases that make a group called liquid petroleum (LP)
Most people think LP is liquid propane
Propane is made from refining petroleum and natural gas

Natural gas and propane can be run on the same heater, but changes must be made to burn the specific gas
If you don’t know what you are doing then call a professional

Well shit. I have a trane xe90 that says on it converted from natgas to propane by x company, and a small grill propane bottle. I just want a proof of concept burn, will get bigger bottle when I know it works. It's a high efficiency furnace so the co out is pvc pipe.

You can buy ventless wall mounted propane heaters for $130.

This.

Stuff like sawdust are probably a bigger concern. My neighbor was looking for a heater for his garage and almost went with a gas heater... That might have been interesting.

Then a regular cylinder-style kerosene heater and ceiling fan might be better. Also, investing in a good dust collector is a must.

>>1526704
>>1526735
They’re mounted a couple feet up on the wall so there is absolutely no risk of ignition.

The flame is covered and the amount of gasoline or solvents needed to make the ignition of fumes a danger would be absurd.

You would have to dump gallons of shellac on the floor and the heater would have to be within a foot of the floor to actually ignite the fumes.

You would black out before there would be a risk of anything explosion related

>> No.1528208

>Don’t listen to these fags
>>>1526735

Actually a fire caused by airborne saw dust is explosive, much like a fire at a flour mill. You can mount the heater on the ceiling if you like, it's still extremely dangerous, even with a good dust collection system.

Do you DIY bro?
