cliche as fuck, but something I have always wanted to do

Fill the bottles with water up until just below the neck. Tie a string around the bottle on the outside following that line.

Heat the bottle over an open flame (your stove should be fine). The bottle will break precisely along the line of the water/string. Sand it and you have a tall glass.

And remember to always be careful when dealing with glass.

is there anything you could coat the outside of the glasses with to strengthen them?

I honestly never put that much thought into strenghtening the glass. Sorry, bro, I just don't know this one.

Clear nail polish maybe, I don't know how it would work with glass though, I'm no expert.

Well, they do use epoxi to prevent corrosion in beverage cans, so you might be onto something there. I've never seen it done to glass, but it won't kill you at least.

>> No.152204

i figured coating the outside of the glass would make the most sense, but we'll see what i find when i get around to searching,

>> No.152216

i would think some type of glaze for glass could be used to impart strength to the overall product...

go to brewer supply store;
buy grain malt (or barley), yeast, hops, bottle filler, and new caps. brew per instructions on many a "brew your own" site.
after 1 week or so, get ready to bottle your first sudz.
after 3 or so weeks. drink your piss.
rinse, repeat.

Assuming they're made of glass you could smash 'em up and use the pieces to create mosaic.
