Any welders here? I have an amico stick/tig 165 that has a wp26 style torch. Tried to switch to a 17 style torch but I can’t seem to find the right connectors. Will regular flare fittings work? They seem to be a little different than a regular flare. The bigger one is the amico and the smaller one is the miller 17 style. I need to make the small torch fit into the female end of the welder.

Any help would be appreciated

Unfortunately I’m not sure if flare or compression or NPT fit. Either a 3/8” flare or compression fit the big fitting and 1/8” flare or compression fit the small one, but I’m not sure if that would create a tight enough fitting to keep argon from leaking if I jimmy rig it like that

What’s super annoying is that they give you the size/thread but don’t tell you what denomination it is. Unless there’s some standard type for welding that I don’t know about? But yea all those look like the right sizes I just need an adapter. I really don’t want to have to return this and deal with all that again.

Also from the looks of it, the wp26 is 5/8, while the wp17 is 3/8. If that’s true, what size 5/8” brass fitting threads into 3/8” flare

is it the same fitting on the torch end? IIRC I had some hose like this to adapt a smaller torch to a larger machine

Torch end is the same as the other end for each cable.

ok I think you need one of these with a 26 on one end (welder) and a 17 on the other (torch): https://www.airgas.com/product/Welding-Products/Welding-Support-Equipment/TIG-Torch-Parts/p/RAD64005962

Is there really no such fitting that I can use to go from one size to another directly?

This seems to be the closest thing but holy fuck they want to rape me for a brass fitting

Bumping to see if there’s anybody who knows of any other fitting before I spend $35 at Home Depot for this thing

Additionally, does anyone know if flare fittings or compression fittings would still give a good seal?
