Hey /diy/! So let me break all this shit down for you in the form of a greentext

>be me
>buy used car
>horn no work
>take off bumper
>horns just arent connected
>plug horns in
>horns beep, then stop
>check fuse box
>horn fuse is blown
>ffw to blowing 3 fuses
>decide to try each individual horn
>drivers side is disconnected
>passenger side is connected
>horn beeps, then it dies (Beeps a lot more than it did before)
>fuse isn't blown
>buy new horns
>different connectors

So tl;dr I know I at the very least need to replace my horns, if anyone else has any suggestions id love to hear them. My plan is to remove the male clip from the horns, and then wire it to the new horns (They have 2 exposed prongs). I know fuck all about electrics, but I do know that the horns are 12 volts and 3 amps (The old ones), and the horn fuse is 15 amps. I need to know what gauge of wire I should use to prevent any sort of disaster and if its possible to buy the male clips. Thanks!

Yeah, I checked these out earlier. Silly me who has never done soldering before realized you can just put connectors on the wires that go into that clip and then attach those to the horn. Thanks I guess.

sorry dude. Yeah you just stick the wires in the metal terminals and crimp em down and probably feed them in through the back of the "clip". Don't forget to put those little donuts on the wire before the terminals for 6 mos extra life.

standard speaker wire is enough.

i've replaced the horns on my car for older ones because i got bored. the standard horns were grounded through the metal bracket they were mounted on so i only needed to add a ground wire to the new ones.
