I bought this old Russian Zenit camera that has lots of its finished removed from the frame. What’s the easiest way to restore it?

get a can of Cam-R-fresh, and spray it on. make sure to follow the instruction carefully they are actually pretty well written and have 2 very important steps you will fuck up if you do'nt read

Spray and cameras do not mix well. Or at all.

Use thin modelling oil or acrylic paint and a good brush if you must restore it.
Do not sand. The finish is already feathered because it has been rubbed off.

Thank you, if I use acrylic do I have to thin it or can I just use it straight out of the container? The hobby shop near me has Testors modeling paint

Put the lens on any real camera that has M42 and bin it.
It has fabric roll shutter. if the paint is like that, the glue on shutter curtains is the same and will tear and jam randomly. Curtains themselves are cracked with pinholes and will fog your film.

I think those are m39 slr mount, so you would need a small step up ring to use on m42.
