Unless you get the right kind of potato seed and happen to have perfect year round weather - then it might. Maybe.

solid Alcohol
100g alcohol (heard gasoline also works, haven't tried)
10g stearic acid
3 g NaOH
warm alcohol in water bath to dissolve the stearic acid.
dissolve NaOH in as little water as possible.
add lye to alcohol.
the stuff should start to solidify almost instantly.
burns well, difficult to blow out but melts after burning for a while.

Honestly, it’s not like it used to be. They have plenty of chink shit that’s not going to last for more than a couple jobs, but the past couple years they’re starting to roll out a bunch of stuff that is made to compete with Home Depot tools that cost 50% more. A lot of it is made in Taiwan and you can definitely tell the difference between that and the cheap Chinesium.

It’s not going to compete with Snap On, but I don’t think you would have any problems buying the Pitt Pro ratchets over Gearwrench for 70% the price.

The power tools though, meh. The Bauer stuff is like a Ryobi competitor and the Hercules is supposed to be as good as Makita or Milwaukee. But you only get a 90 day warranty, the product lines are limited, and you can get Dewalt with a 3-yr warranty on sale for the same price or better if you shop at the right time.

I like how you make all this shit up in your head to justify your cheap purchases.
Bauer as a "competitor to ryobi" and Hercules " supposed to be as good as Makita or Milwaukee."

Thats not what it says in the advertisement, its not what the tools are ofiicially being compared to. Its just something you are pulling out of your ass.

Wut? Hercules is consitently compared to DeWalt and Makita. They’re not the typical extra cheap Chinesium that you would expect from HF 10 years ago. Bauer is more like Porter Cable, Ryobi, or B&D where it’s pretty good weekender tier. Even that canuck AvE can’t hate them when he wants to.

That being said, I still wouldn’t buy them because you could get DeWalt or Milwaukee on sale for the same price as the Hercules if you catch it on sale, and you will get a 2nd battery and a much better warranty.

But the upside being when you want to buy a new battery, you can get a Hercules battery for 1/3 the cost of a DeWalt battery,
