Hey, I need basic help.
I bought one of those remote controlled LED light strip that has a small circuit board that draws power from a USB source. The kit came with a 4x AA battery pack, but it only lasts about 20 minutes. So I went and bought an Anker 10,000 mAh battery pack, and its great except that it turns off after about 5 minutes of inactivity, and the remote wont work on the light. I have to push the button on the battery pack to turn it on, and then it works. If I turn off the light strip, after a few minutes the battery pack just goes to sleep.
How can I trick it to always stay on? Like its charging a cellphone.

if it's in your car like it looks to be buy a blade fuse power adapter, and a 12v power supply with a usb lead. they sell these a lot for dash cams and stuff. most cars have a fuse box somewhere in the interior whether near the drivers feet or around the glovebox.

Providing you can't wire to a more permanent source like >>1384121 talks about. You could fit a small LED or two to always draw power from the pack. Really depends on what the pack requires to stay awake.

It's an Anker 10000 slim. It has Q charging, I wonder if that's causing issues.

>>1384121
It needs to be battery powered, and not use power from the car for reasons I wont get into.

How can I wire in an led? Series? Take the source from -5v and ground? Is there a small control board that will do this for me?

Thanks

source from -5v and ground

You can get them that take 5v straight or use a current limiting resistor.

please explain it as if I have no idea how to read a circuit.

appreciate it

I dont want it to run off the vehicle electrics.

Tape/rig the button so it's pressed all the time?
The pack turns off when phone is charged to not waste battery. There's nothing much you can do besides drawing enough current from it all the time.

If they're LED like you said, power draw would be minimal. Really, why not wire it to the car?

open it and connect the leds directly to the batteries or short the button

It would be running off of battery power of your car, you dolt. Seriously, why go through the extra trouble of having a fire hazard like a li-ion battery in your car? You make no fucking sense.

It fucking can't because I won't want to. Jesus. Stop fucking telling me to connect it. I don't fucking want to. I needs to run of a battery pack. Not rely on the cars electrics. And not be hooked up to any car wires, or lights. I don't want it to work off the door lights. It's not a solution for my problem.

I need this battery pack to always be on.

Make sure you make a direct connection from your neg to pos battery terminals when working on this. The jumper will provide a means of circumventing the load and will not drain your battery.

apparently it turns off at 50mA
try 2x 100 ohm (0.25 watt) resistors in parallel between 0-5V
or 1x 56 ohm 0.5 watt resistor

Than you, I just remembered that I have a USB diag tool that always draws power, I'll see if plugging it in will keep it alive, and if not, I'll do the resister method.

Thanks for the link.
