I just purchased a raspberry pi and I dont know what the fuck to do with it. Suggestions goyim?

>> No.1313514

My friend gave me one for Christmas. So far I can't get any of my arduino sketches to work but I'm not that familiar with the differences, so maybe this thread will help us both.

If you don't know what to do with it then maybe you shouldn't have bought it? Here is what you can do: return it so that someone who actually needs it will get it instead.

Some of the greatest discoveries came from someone experimenting without any particular goal in mind, or with something totally unrelated as the goal. Penicillin and teflon, for example. Maybe less hate and more support?

arduino is a different platform I think and you have to learn C. I chose rpi because it has a familiar architecture and i dont have to deal with low level Atmel programmers

Yes, but the difference here is that those people did things on their own. Accidential discovery has nothing to do with wilingness to experiment. It's merely a unforseable side effect of experimental activity.

>Maybe less hate and more support?
You'll get as much hate and support as you give effort to writing your posts. If you come here with "i don't know what the fuck to do" and "goyim" expect similar quality of the responses. Had OP written:
>I'm interested in working with Raspberry Pi. So far I have <list_of_things_you_did_with_rpi>. I'm looking to learn more about <hardware | software>. I am also interested in <list_of_your_interests_or_hobbies>, so projects with similar theme are most welcome. I also know <list_of_your_other_applicable_knowledge>.
responses would have been much more supportive and more tailored to OP's skillset.

Make an open source drone platform to fight in the upcoming race war.
I used mine as a network connected thermostat control for a/c and heat.
Some people use them as media players or data recorders or robot controllers or neat-o light displays.
OR put it on a shelf to collect dust like 90% of all pis and tarduinos ever purchased.

>>1313518
Pencillium mold was an accidental discovery, yes.
But penicillin (the substance) and teflon were both discovered by professionals in their field, not NEETs playing with lego in their parent's basement.

Anyone feel like we get this same thread every week? I got a robot Ive posted on here before that's controlled by pi and also some home automation/webserver controlled by another.

Is banana pi an okay platform if I just wanna host another webserver? Does the python lib to control raspberry gpio work with them?

Read OP again. This is clearly a troll thread that is always a lot of fun because of the autists who get triggered. If we ignored bait like this or gave polite responses as if OP were legit, these same exact bait threads would not be posted literally every week.

Since the early days of the internet, adults knew that if you fed a troll he would stick around for more treats. 20 years on and the geniuses of /diy/ can't grasp that simple rule.

hey, don't get me wrong. I'm a firm believer in the old adage that trolling is a art.

A professional troll would never post this, but I'm the Mr. Bill who pretended to samefag Mr T and accidentally forget to change my trip. Worked rather well since everyone laughed at him and even posted screencaps of "his" blunder. and it will have worked spectacularly well if he decided to ditch his trip because of that, but I doubt it because he's pretty anal.

>I want to stream an online radio (m3u, pls files) through my raspberry Pi so I could listen to it on my FM radio, could somebody help me out please?

I'm preparing an Instructable for that very thing. It will be online by the end of February, but in the meantime you can make sure you have a DVD burner and lots of writable DVDs which will be the interface between the pi and the FM transmitter which you also will need.

Also I'll be using an arduino based robot to be like a smart jukebox to handle the DVDs so they don't get fingerprints.

This is probably the best way to listen to online radio, in my opinion, anon.

That and sata, raid controllers, ram to handle raid or zfs etc.

It's a router. It should be treated as such when it comes to such services. Which is why pihole is awesome. That being said it's impressive it can do minor amounts of vision processing, but it's nothing to write home about.
