I can second this. It also works for getting wax out of used jars that you had burned candles in. The more wax at the bottom the better it works. It cools and contracts away from the jar walls.

Also, citrus-based cleaners can remove gum and tar pieces very easily after using the ice to get the bulk off or just on small bits in the first place.

Chlorine and hand sanitizer/isopropyl alcohol causes a chemical reaction that emits a toxic gas and when contained it will expand the bottle and cause it to explode.
When first experimenting with these I had just put chlorine in an open container of alcohol and left it for about 10 minutes to go eat. When I opened my door I had found a greenish mixture and a lot of gas that caused me to nearly hack up my lung.

I have an android and haven't had the chance to do it from the iphone. Try go to clover.com or just find the app in the app store. Then use the email.

Well I found this yesterday, but what's the point of having it in gun form? I would assume its to be able to squeeze so that the pick jiggles inside. But more often than not when I tried it, it just moved the rest of it; not the actual pick.

DIY "Safe" Pyramid Scheme of the week

Android: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.clover.pay.android&hl=en
Iphone: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/clover-pay/id471023206?mt=8

https://www.clover.com/a?inv&t=1md83vgfwluit

There is a new app currently in closed beta running a promotion that is very similar to paypal. They tout thereselved as a from the ground up mobile application for the sole purpose of being able to contribute for a dinner instantly with your friends around the table sort of setting.

With the current beta they are doing a you get 5$, I get 5$ thing which is why I called it a pyramid scheme. But the truth is both apple and google have approved this app for their stores so I can't possibly see this being a rouge information stealing app.

When I signed up you could request the 5$ credit but you were guarenteed getting it if you "upgraded" to gold which means giving them your CC or DC info. But that's instant gratification for yout. No time based fees, the only fees that are charged are ones if you transfer money, and I'm not sure what those are.

As for getting this process to work, I'm assuming you have to install the app first and then message/email your self.

any ideas out there for turning cast iron chips into iron oxide and keeping the iron oxide

>> No.134524

>>134398
> iron oxide

Very easy. Take a large electrolysis cell filled with saltwater and a splash of household hydrogen peroxide, then get a very pure carbon electrode and a large steel bolt of some sort.

The carbon electrode will be your cathode, and the steel bolt will be your anode. Apply power of about ~5V 2A for a day.

Once the electrolysis is done, simply pour the dark, gunky fluid through a couple of coffee filters to obtain the iron oxide mush. Proceed to heat it in order to dehydrate it and convert it to a usable dry powder.

If your product is black instead of orange, this simply means it is a different oxide of iron. In most cases, heating it will break it down to the orange oxide.

-----

Steel Wool and Household Chemicals

1
Place nondetergent steel wool on a magnet to keep the steel wool submerged in the oxidizing solution. Place the magnet and steel wool in a container and put the entire collection on an outdoor work surface.
2
Mix equal amounts of vinegar and chlorine bleach. Be sure to do this outdoors, and do not breathe the resulting toxic fumes.
3
Mix 1 part of the solution with 4 parts water.
4
Pour the mixture over the steel wool, and allow it to sit for several hours.
5
Filter the solution through a coffee filter to separate the iron oxide particles.

Second Option for Steel Wool and Household Chemicals

1
Place the iron items on an outdoor work surface.
2
Spray chlorine bleach on the surface of your iron objects.
3
Sprinkle the surface with table salt, and allow the area to dry.
4
Spritz the items very lightly with water. You need to dampen the items thoroughly without rinsing the bleach-salt combination from the surface.
5
Allow the items to set overnight.
6
Mix a solution of 1 pint hydrogen peroxide (473.18 ml) and 1 tablespoon (14.79 ml) of muriatic acid in a spray bottle. Shake it to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
7
Spray the iron items with the peroxide solution, over the bleach-salt solution applied the night before. Allow the solution to dry, and then spray again. Let the solutions work overnight.
8
Rinse the iron items with clear water. Repeat applications of the solutions as needed for spot rusting.

1
Place the iron items in a metal tub, making sure that they are not in contact with one another.
2
Mix water and salt to make a solution. How much of each will depend on the size of the tub you are using, but 2 tablespoons (29.57 ml) to 1 gallon (3785 ml) of water is a good beginning point.
3
Pour the salt water over the iron in the tub to cover it.
4
Attach the negative lead of a car battery charger or DC current converter to the rim of the tub. Allow the process to work for several hours, perhaps even 2 or 3 days.

Make 5$ or more quickly and safely without risk
-----------------------------------------------

Android: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.clover.pay.android&hl=en
Iphone: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/clover-pay/id471023206?mt=8

https://www.clover.com/a?inv&t=1md83vgfwluit

There is a new app (that is very similar to paypal) currently in closed beta running a promotion. They tout thereselved as a "from the ground up mobile application" for the sole purpose of being an easy tool to use in a setting where it's easier for a friend to cover something and you to pay them back. They even have a tool set out for merchants so all the merchant has to do is provide a QR code and it will allow you to pay for the product. I think it's a neat idea and I can't wait till they get off the ground.

With the current beta they are doing a you get 5$, I get 5$(up to 80$). I would say that it is risky, nut the truth is both apple and google have approved this app for their stores so I can say this app is most likely legit.

When I signed up you could request the 5$ credit but you were guarenteed getting it if you "upgraded" to gold which means giving them your CC or DC info. But that's instant gratification for you. I would assume you could proptly remove your CC/DC info afterwords

The only fees that exist are those against merchants and it's a 3% general fee, the same fee you would pay on paypal or with any CC company charges the merchant. There are monthly limits of 2000$ unless you're a merchant then it's like 20,000.

As for getting this process to work, I'm assuming you have to install the app first and then message/email your self.
