I was thinking of building a bed frame like pic related, but shorter and wide enough for a full or queen sized mattress, I plan to put a computer desk inside (the bed frame is hollow and opens up) and hook it up to the TV on the outside. Any ideas for how I could improve functionality before I actually buy all the materials and go through with it?

I have something similar, mind that the drawers wont be deep enough to use all the space, project some non directly accesible storage for that space, you can keep the winter clothes there on summer and vice versa.

Also, no matter how well you position it, something important will end up falling in the tiny space between the wall and the furniture, always.

climbing down that vertical ladder to take a piss at 3 am is pretty much a function of your age. meaning, you have to be pretty damn young to want to sleep up there.
