$37 worth of crushed diamond is the most expensive part of making your own tool, I mean, don't you already have a Bridgeport, a lathe, and a cabinet full of collets, drill bits, end mills, and taps in your shop?

I own one of these things, the blade change is not hard at all. When it binds on the side like that you just loop the blade back over the other roller and it pops off.

The blade can be a bit finicky sure.
How many times have you removed the pulley off to do it?

Im not expecting a ~$100 clone tool to be as refined as a long time developed ~$300 tool.
Then again I wasnt expecting someone to be that hamfisted with trying to finesse a blade out of a tool either.

Ive had it bind like that on the housing too, im sure you have also. Relieving the pressure by putting it over the other pulley and coming straight out off both pulleys at the same time isnt that hard.

Obviously some people dont like his character.
If you dont like his character then you arent going to gloss over and ignore the fact that his content is in general garbage.

Same reason people dont like pewdiepies character of just yelling and screaming like a child when something mundane happens.
Garbage content, his apologists dont give a fuck and want to hear his "character"

I made myself a 6 1/4" diamond tool so I can diamond generate curves in glass on a drill press equipped with a Sine table.

Bought these diamond composite stones made from 20 grit diamonds embedded in a metal matrix. Ultra fucking tough.

The hard part was getting them attached to the metal tool I made from a piece of leaded iron with a shaft bolted in

. In the end, I milled in a small notch and I brazed them on using All-State nickel silver brazing rod.

I placed each rectangular pellet into the notch on top of some flux plus a small piece of the brazing rod flattened on a piece of steel rail with a hammer

I then stuck it in an induction oven and carefully heated it up until the metal melted.

Two or three of the stones were high so I leveled it using a cross feed table with an old diamond wheel grinding dresser in it.

What used to take me 2-3 days working evenings to do, I can now diamond generate curves into would be telescope mirrors in around 15 minutes. The mounting platter for the glass is one a bearing and a small high torque motor gives it about 5 rpm, a water feed from a tap keeps it cool and dust free while a weight hanging off pilot feed lever gives it enough weight to work.

What tangible thing have you learned from his teardown videos other than
>look at all of these electronics
>look at all of these cheap gears
>look at this plastic gear housing
>look at the plastic casting of the tool

Honestly nothing that is going to make or break a sale because they all are about the same.
You buy whats on the market, and they are all competitive

I liked the idea of it too until I saw that the teardown videos didnt really show you all that much, and that he routinely breaks shit like a retard

I would just like to point out that he didn't need the jb-weld, or even the diamond. The he could have got some dirt or sand and cut it fine.

http://www.oocities.org/unforbidden_geology/ancient_egyptian_copper_coring_drills.html

If you're cutting a rock, you can use anything, the rock will breakdown and you can start using powder from itself to cut more. You can add some water to keep your tool from melting and get a nice slurry going, the excess will hydraulic itself out. Your boring bit will be sacrificed slightly, but mostly it's cutting itself. The mineral will impregnate the tip of your bit and stay there and cut.

Marble is ez too..
