I imagine this came out of a call logging system (possible emergency dispatch)

10 Channels, with automatic gain control. I think It could be used to control playback from a multitrack tape, as it would have been a recording control at some point.

I thought that maybe each channel could be used to control playback of a looped casette tape, basically making it into a mahgnetic tape sequencer.

Any schematics? I cant find shit after hours of looking.

Sorry for the resolution, I'm potato quality dumb phone owner.

I found a bunch of these in a ceiling during a demolition project. They were joining two cat-5 cables.

They look like LEDs, but that doesn't make any sense to me when they were hidden behing ceiling tiles. I guess they could have been just regular diodes, but if that's the case surely it'd be better to put them inside a coupler/male-to-male adapter housing.

>> No.1199736

>>1199732
They are just really extravagant looking connectors. Two in a row means probably cable was damaged too short to reach for repair. Maybe mouse chewed through it. Or someone fucked up big time lol.

>> No.1199750

>>1199736
It wasn't two in a row, there was one for each of the eight wires in the cable. I guess it was their way of joining two lengths of cable.

Thanks for the info.

Scotchlocks are great.
Beware of off-brand. 3m is great, if you see others in the field they are trash and so is the guy's work that put them in.

The orange and red ones take 19-26g wire. 19g needs a special tool, you need to use the real E-9E, E-9BM, or E-9C tools. You can't just use the little notch in your pliers, it'll fuck up on the 19g.

They even make a bigger series for 16-19g wire.
This pic isn't the scotchlock's fault, some tech 20 years ago didn't close shit up right.
