When did the fad of painting over wood work start?
I need to go back in time and fucking murder someone.

anon - wtf are you doing there, and, why?
its a cupboard under the stairs that hides a monstrous POS no fucker wants to see - now, leave the fuck well alone, and go produce some offspring or something.

Replace if you don't like the paint. You don't have the patience for what you're trying.

For best results, take everything off and set it on some saw horses outside.

Yeah but you're an idiot. You didn't even take the door off the hinge to start striping paint. And you're just striping a little here, little there, by the end of the week your going to have a pile of mess, no fully stripped pieces, and an eyesore.

Sometimes doing it right means doing nothing at all

Pull the millwork, steam the paint off. Don't scrape it.

If that post was /b/ tier to you, you may want to find a new board to hang out on. Better yet, find a new site. 4chan probably isn't for you.

If you're claiming samefag, wrong, but please don't make me screenshot it because I'm just too damned lazy to be assed right now. Threatened? No. The more the merrier, but my comment stands: that's not even the /b/-est post in this thread, and if it offends then this isn't the place to be. Lastly, I'm probably old enough to be your father. Don't you notice my shitty "Dad sense of humor" and how preachy I am? But you made me laugh, so I like you.

If it were me OP, I'd do as much >>1140479 as possible, with a mask because it's going to be lead paint. Not even a lead freak, I've cast my own bullets for years, but I wouldn't want to breath flakes of that shit or dust from it.

Whoever paints over outlet covers/wall registers/etc should be executed.

Even trying to paint around them instead of taking them all off before painting is worth of death.

Once I acquired my homestead, I set upon cleaning the kitchen table from paint.

6 layers.

You know what I discovered? IT HAS A SHITTY PLYWOOD SURFACE, AND IS GENERALLY WORTHLESS.

I'll repurpose it as a workbench and build a new table. Local mill appears to have cheap larch on sale

Do you guys live in the midwest? I moved to Minnesota from Washington and everyone has this same sort of trim/circle corner pieces/every-bit-of-wood-painted motif and it drives me nuts.
