Anyone have any good ideas on making a great teddy bear or realistic cat body?
Every attempt at a realistic cat body comes out as too dog-like. Would be nice if I could get patterns, but suggestions from people more experienced are also very much appreciated.
Picture remotely related, baby toy for a friend's kid.

Teddy bear and cat heads are fairly triangular. You could probably create two rounded triangles for the sides of the face and sew those to a long strip pointed on the short ends (articulate, I am not) to create a head, then add in the appropriate ears.

How would you want the cat to sit? Is this meant to be a teddy bear-style cat, or a more realistic one? If you're using the same form for the cat as a bear, the body would be slightly teardrop-shaped (narrowing slightly at the top for the neck, bulbous enough at the bottom to be able to sit), with the legs looking a lot like the toy in your picture.

If none of that made sense, I can try and draw up something in Paint for you.
