I'd like to put LEDs on my clubbing shoes that light up when I am standing; some sort of button/pressure thingy on the sole that completes the circuit while depressed, and off when off the ground.

While I've got a soldering iron and do repairs, I've not done electronics before.

Could someone give me a component list to do this so I can amazon.co.uk. I'm genuinely too stupid to work out what sort of switch I need, as I can't get my head around if momentary switches mean "on when pushed off when let go" or "on when pushed, then instantly off even if held"

Please do not do it.

Your future self will thank me.

I like to club you with those shoes for even thinking that.

Look up how improvised land mines are built, but put the pressure switch in your shoe and connected to lights.

They sell these in the mall now.
Millennials are the target demographic I believe.

No, those only flicker when walking

>>1061877
Those are just always on LEDs

What I'm aiming to do is have them come on when pressure is applied, and remain on, until the foot is lifted.

Buy a pair of >>1061877 from China and replace the switch with a pressure sensitive switch. Would take like 5 mins

This is specifically to be put inside a pair of clear heeled shoes I have; I can pick up a battery powered led strip or buy those sort of shoes and gut them definitely, but the switch is what stumps me:

Can you link to any specific models? When I search for things like push-to-make and pressure sensitive switches I get a variety of sorts that seem to be for different applications, and again I'm not quite short if momentary refers to "goes on and off" when it gets pressure or "goes on while it is held".

Momentary is on (or off) while pressed and reverts to its previous state when released.

A small momentary switch + battery holder + LED + wires is all you need. If you can't use Amazon to find those, I don't trust your ability to not hurt yourself making this.

A pressure pad switch would be easier to implement, thats what i would go with. Id put two in each shoe, one under my toes and one under my heel for varied lighting patterns. Might even be avle to put them between your shoes sole and insert

Nice trips. Go to spark fun and look under sensors. You can wire up one of the pressure sensors to an Arduino which you can also use to control the lights. The programming could be rather simple depending on what you want to do. If it's just pressure activated with one sensor super easy. You could get fancy and have five, one for each toe to select light sequences.

So a bill of material would probably be

>strip of WS2812B 5050 addressable RGB LEDs 1 Meter
>Arduino mini 5V 2 each
>Lithium Ion rechargeable batter (select the mAH rating depending on how long you want them to stay on) 2 each
>pressure sensor 2 each
>wire

Honestly, unless you plan on programming custom light sequences and shit you're probably better off buying something like >>1061877 from ebay/ali baba
