Anyone know of any uses for spent casings? I have mostly .308 caliber and I'm not interested in reloading.

>> No.778920

I know that local Afghan people take the spent casings and either melt them down or just sell them as scrap metal

>> No.778921

hoard them until you have enough to sell as scrap. ask at the gun store.

Really the best option is one of these two.

If you want to make something with cast brass, then go for it. Otherwise see which one will net you more money, and sell them I guess.

There's also the repurposed jewelry shit, but people tend to prefer having the bullets with the cartridge for those.

Brass has good tonal qualities. .308 in particular has a good note.

Go to a music store and get a small cymbal. Drill holes around the edge, or in whatever pattern you like. Punch out/drill out primers. Wear a mask for this part. Hang casings on fishing line/chain from cymbal.

You now have an awesome wind and rain chime.

Washington DC law does not allow you to have even spent ammo casings. Unless you have a registered firearm.

So clean the brass of your finger prints and dna. Then sprinkle some freedom around, on the property of anti gun politicians' houses. Then find a pay phone(i know) and call the police on them.

I personally don't like using anything smaller then 50cal shells. but maybe you can.. if you can find bearings small enough. build a mini-jet engine...

like I said. 50cal shells are a fuckton easier to work with. but I suppose a .308 win shell might be big enough. if you can find some bearings small enough.

>where do you get the 50cal shells?
Dad's navy reserve now, he goes on gun shoots at least once or more a year. just ask for a pocket full of them, and he gives them to me when he see's me. he says they throw them out, so it's not stealing. lol, I don't question it. its better then paying for used shells.

Shooter/reloader and /k/ommando here.

Sell them to a reloader if they are in good shape. Make sure they are boxer primed first.

If Berdan primed, they are much less desirable to reloaders as berdan primers are a bitch to find right now.

Britain's
laws concerning firearms are pretty strict, but they work – gun
crime is extremely unusual over here. The argument about British cops
not carrying guns is bullshit – your average beat bobby doesn't
have a gun because, thanks to guns being harder to get than even the
most illegal of drugs, he doesn't *need*
one. The going rate for a 9mm auto in the British criminal world is
about £200, with bullets costing £5 apiece; that's
about another £100 for a high-capacity magazine's worth. The
long and the short of it is, much as the NRA may hate to admit it,
gun control *works*.
It doesn't work *perfectly*,
but a thing doesn't have to be perfect to work *well*.
Or maybe we're just a calmer bunch than the Yanks.

Lel.

I'll probably be told to go back to /pol/ for saying this, but if you remove blacks and hispanics from the crime statistics crime rates plummet across the board (mainly because 80% of all homicides are gang-related and white street gangs haven't been a thing since prohibition) and the US ends up with s homicide rate marginally higher than Finland, guns and all - "Yanks" have had fuck all to do with it since the gangster era ended and even then it was almost all Italians and Irish running organized crime, not the WASPs. Sure that adjusted rate is higher than the UK's, but then again the US has had a higher homicide rate than the UK for as long as there are comparable statistics, even when civilians living in both countries could order machine guns through the mail.
