This sounds really dumb and it probably is but what would I search for to find a wooden version of this shape? I want to use it as a table but with space in the middle for firelogs. What would I search for to find this?

It is a rectangle, assembled with four pieces of wood

>> No.756495

If wooden, won't it burn?
Recomending hard wood, few firelogs and a ceramic basin as recipient for logs. Also, keep in mind that people must not be burnt.

>> No.756499

>>756495
I think they just want to store fire logs in the middle of it.
>>756486
Exactly, do you really need plans for this?

>> No.756501

>>756480
Use 4 planks and some fancy joint.
Either use thick planks, or add some struts.

>>756495
Firelogs are logs ready to be thrown into fire, i.e. chopped to right size, not burning logs ;-)

I agree with this anon. That is a rectangle.

go on Craigslist for a rectangle salesman, see if he has that wood kind you are talking about. Then glue together as many as you can fit in the back of your civic. Now, you are going to want to use glue, the wood kind to put it together. You might want to clamp it or you can use those logs of the wood kind on the skinny edges, a lil weight never hurt.

Oh i just got a grate idea...if you can't find a rectangle man on CL go to an art store or even a framing shop, they can make you a rectangle like you won't believe, and then if the frame is .5" or 1.27cm then just stack 2 together hammer a decent nail in them stack another nail stack another decent nail, and so forth till you have a 3D Rectangle.

>> No.756587

Are you some kind of cityboy to the extreme? But anyway, they didn't bend it. They likely just cut up 4 pieces and then assembled them in this shape. These kind of furnitures are often not complete hardwood though, and just look like it. In reality it could be a thin sheet of plywood with cardboard inside, or just a thick sheet of plywood that is laminated.

4 different pieces? or 4 from the same board? Like if I have a long rectangle board and fold it over 4 times? How do you suppose I cut it? I have a set of chisels from my gram-pa.

I'm going to operate under the assumption that you're just horribly misinformed and not actually trolling.

You would use a saw to cut the wood, or particle board, or whatever material you would use. I drew this real shitty pic to demonstrate how to make a "table" from a 4'x8' sheet of whatever-the-fuck-you-want. you could cut it into 4 pieces and staple/screw/nail and glue it together to make something like
>>756564

there is no bending

one superscript dash is shorthand for feet, two is for inches, this is the standard notation for the customary units of measurement in the united states. for example:

8' = 8 feet
5" = 5 inches
3'9" = 3 feet and 9 inches

the largest dimension sheet good you can buy (plywood, mdf, lauan, cork board, etc.) is typically 4'x8' such as in the picture

I guess so

if op couldn't figure out how to make a square out of wood, they probably didn't consider how much of a mess having fire logs is between the insects laying eggs under the wood and bits of the bark itself falling or, or just cobwebs from house spiders finding it

would be alright for a shoe bench in the mud room or something but I wouldn't do a coffee table

They actually sell super premium firewood that is just "fancy" woods like cypress or hickory that has been either lightly sandblasted or hit with a spinning wire brush. It's like 10x the price of normal firewood but I can't fault the people selling it for selling it.
