OP I was forced to go to Home Depot the other day as Loewes didn't have the PVC fittings I was looking for.

I had previously sworn off ever setting foot in the store again. Something that should have taken less than a minute turned into a fucking ten minute ordeal involving several employees one of whom wanted to get stupid when I was finally leaving the fucking store.

I guess my question is have you ever had a customer snap and beat the dog shit out of one of your employees?

I don't know why, but home depot people are always stupid and they take forever to do anything.

I bought this shower enclosure there once, it took them three and a half hours to get it off the shelf. I don't mean i had to wait for that long for them to show up, i mean it took three of these people and a forklift three and a half hours to take this thing off a 10 foot tall shelf.

Last time i was there, i bought a toilet, i waited for an hour for an employee to show up, so i said fuck it and grabbed one of those roller stairs and pulled it off the fucking shelf myself.

I prefer home depot employees personally, they stay the fuck out of my way. I don't ask them for anything, they don't ask me if i need help finding anything when I'm deciding between the small and big bottle of titebond, if i need a massive amount of plywood i take a buddy with me and we throw 30 sheets on a cart and don't have to wait for the fork lift driver to get back from blazing it in his car when he shouldn't even be on break. need something off the top shelf? go over and grab a ladder and get it yourself, you'll carry a twenty foot ladder back before someone with enough of a cognitive process to shut the aisle down and grab a high low appears from behind the display showers where they've been texting for the last half hour. just glare at them when they ask you what you're doing. yes, I'm that asshole that takes enough lumber to build a small garage through the self checkout, I'm the one who opens all the packs of bolts because the size gauge is fucked up, I'm the one who leaves all the warped 2x4s on top of the sheet rock because I'm pissed off that out of the 10 I picked up only 7 are usable. No, you can't give me advice on wiring 3 phase electricity, you can't suggest the $80 faucet for my slop sink in the garage. Fuck you, i go there because i need something for work, not to socialize with some jerkoff who is struggling(and failing) to get enough oxygen to his brain because he can't seem to find any air with his head up his ass.

Way to be a liberal apologist. I had a very different experience at my local Home Depot.

Went in there in the middle of a roofing job. Some black kid with a shit eating grin managed to move four aisle blockers thereby trapping me in. Apparently he did it just to be a nigger as there wasn't any sort of materials being moved.

Adding to my suspicions is the fact he was laughing his nigger ass off as he ran away shucking and jiving with his little nigger loving co horts.

for starters, a rambler. i don't need to hear your entire fucking life story. if you don't know the exact item you want, tell me what you want to do and what you want to do it to.

idgaf that your cousin is a shithead who can't be bothered to clean the dishes and as such you feel the need to redo your backsplash in faux metal and you need a seat because you're old and feet hurt and etc. just fucking get on with it.

secondly, listen to what i have to say. i will repeat myself a few times but after that, it becomes one word "yes".

yes
>does this do

>does this do

>does this do

i've had to tell customers on rare occasions that "look, you clearly don't believe what i'm telling you. let me go get another associate". the reason you're in the store acting like a fucking moron is because you are one and i am not. listen to what i have to tell you and don't ask me the same question ten times.

finally, don't be a rude cunt. this goes without saying, but whatever bad day you're having, i don't really care.

Would you rather work at one of those old full service local hardware stores, if they still really existed?

Personally, I miss them. They might not have had huge quantities of stock for big jobs, but they always seemed to have a least a couple of any one thing along with the old guys that collectively knew everything, and where it was in the store. I'd pay more for that any day of the week. I can't stand how a trip for one or to items which should be common turns into an hour+ odyssey even with prior website research and phone calls.

I feel like not only have the big box stores degraded expertise and customer service by dubious employee selection, but has also increased customer idiocy and rudeness levels. I suspect the one affects the other, and the whole business is in a rapidly downward spiraling shitfest that causes and is symptomatic of degradation in civilized society. Thoughts? I tend to have time to think of this shit while being treated poorly by other customers and employees at your stores.

All stock received goes directly into overheads or bays, they don't keep shit "In the back". Because of safety standards, when customers are in the building they MUST put up barricades and have spotters available whenever going into an overhead, and when moving they have to move at idle speed. FYI, the Dremel 3D printer appears to be a re-badged "Flashforge Dreamer" (not that anyone has heard of that one).

I really don't know how a store like Home Depot expects to support a consumer 3D printer. How many people are going to return it because the extruder clogged? MakerBot can't even support their customers - MakerBot's customer support takes a week to respond to a case and their support is pretty much just mailing replacement "Smart Extruders". The Dremel does not appear to have an easily replaceable hot end, so are they going to support people taking apart the print head to clean it out? I can't see this ending well.

FYI the Stratasys Objet Eden line of 3D printers *starts* at $250K, and that's a "jet" technology 3D printer. And you bet they are charging an arm and a leg on service contracts on top of that.

My employer priced out a Stratasys uPrint SE Plus, which is just one of their basic FDM printers. The printer "retails" for $20K, but by the time the service contract and a supply of material was added, the quote came to $40K! Filament is $250 per 1kg roll (and it has a chip to prevent refilling). Not only that, the build plates are disposable and have to be replaced after a few builds!

I would not let the HP announcement hold you back from buying a diy 3D printer.

I did make a pretty good sized scene. Not intentionally I was just fucking black out mad. I've seen some shit and some shit accessories but that nigger's little stunt was about the most egregious I've ever seen in all my days of being a consumer.

I have worked for both depot and blowes. Only difference I saw in the companies was Blowes paid more but that was only because it was just coming to another country and wanted to secure good employees in the beginning. Got a 4 dollar raise my first year there.

After 3 years Blowes had budget cuts and was letting people go "without just cause" to save money. Co workers were cunts who ran kliqs for special favors, raises, and to get out of doing work. They would try to throw you under the bus to get ahead.

Depot, co-workers very chill and good people. Boss's treated people like shit.I got injured at depot and cost me 2 months of back pain, chiro visits, missed time. They weaseled out of it and claimed it was "pre-existing injuries". I learned then that worker's comp is in place to protect companies (from getting sued) not to help the workers.

the HP machine uses the same inkjets from a 2d printer that costs ~$500. If they wanted the consumer market, they could make the machine cheap enough for it. Heck, you could probably make one yourself, all you need is a printer with a page wide inkjet, a really bright lamp, and a powder management system.

>>720973
>>$250K objet machine
The HP machine doesn't use UV curing resin, so they don't need special high viscosity print heads which cost a ton

>>720896
>>had a brand new $12000 printer decide to slam the carriage into the inner wall of the printer and destroy itself
3d printers can do this too, even the big expensive ones. You should never ever, ever print really thin layers on an LS machine as these tend curl up and will destroy the powder recoating system.

Now HP is most definitely going to put chips in their ink cartridges like they do now, to prevent you from refilling them, but there are ways to bypass this. The ink should be pretty much the same as that used in regular printers and the powder you should be able to buy online.

This is the beginning of the end of diy 3d printers, the moment HP decides to make a machine for the consumer market, it's all over.

Nah
Its going to take years and a lot of trial and error before its really viable to lock down the market.

The complexity and variables of printers is just a lot to deal with.

ALWAYS hire a lawyer when dealing with workers comp.
My uncle went through hell and back with his workers comp claim, and after going back and forth from arbitrator to arbitrator finally got results when he brought a lawyer into it

As a Home Depot employee, telling me that you're going to go shop at Lowe's as some kind of threat is the funniest shit ever. Bitch I get paid either way, plus I don't have to deal with your shit. I'll probably even see you there, I shop at Lowe's all the time.

Shit, I do that with non hardware store crap that people want to buy we don't carry.

No, try the drugstore across the street
No, try the bed bath and beyond a few blocks south
No, try the art supplies store around the corner.

I want to grab some board like this

http://www.homedepot.com/p/GP-Braden-Cherry-32-sq-ft-MDF-Wall-Panel-739524/202090204?N=5yc1vZbqp3

And cut it to about 32" tall and line my walls with it.

Would the store cut it for me, or how would you recommend doing that?
