Here's the thing, I keep breaking my headphones because... I don't know, I'm terribly unlucky.

I broke my portapros when they, by accident, slipped out of my fucking pocket right into my bag where I put my binders and I didn't see it. I put my binder it, and horrifyingly hear "clack".

Broke when I was just simply getting them out of my head. The glue snapped and because of my movement momentum the earpiece did 3 turns and the wires snapped completely.

Can this one even be repaired?

I will post my portapros later. My portapros simply have a piece of plastic snapped, I guess I just need recommendation to fix them so they don't snap when putting them on my head.

is this board that slow or no one simply gives a shit? I wonder...

>> No.56513

>>56511
No, this is a slow board. It is small, but it has large amounts of information.

Please take a bit of patience and wait.

it's not your fault OP

they design these things to break so people will have to buy new ones. Super glue and tape will do the trick. My headphones are broken in 9 different places and they work perfectly, so long as I don't drop it on the floor.....

>> No.56523

>>56519
Well the first one have the wires torn off. It's a pair of JVC at 100$, pretty quality. There's only 1 wire to come off of the headphones, which passes in the little metal pin you see in the picture.

The portapros only have the plastic broken... I wonder which kind of glue I should take. Or should I just... tape it? I will be using them while working(semi public) so I would like not to look like an idiot, if possible.

I know, but being canadian is suffering. It will cost me 8$ directly to portapro... and mailing this shit will be like 20$.

I rather repair this pair myself with some GOOD glue(or whatever I am told to use) and buy a brand new pair for 40$...

Also sup.

Is it possible to sew or knit or crochet a tube to slide over the broken part, tape the shit out of it, then slide the tube over the tape?

You might even start a trend...

Use some twill, or plaid, corduroy, whatever your style.

I fixed some decent headphones with shit-loads of scotch tape, and a second layer of electric tape. They look square now, but they fit more comfortably then before.

Look at this picture folks.

Would it work with Crazy Glue?

1: Take a small drill bit and drill little holes in the remaining plastic on both sides
2: Acquire instamorph
3: Melt instamorph and mold over the pieces you wish to weld together, making sure it gets into those holes you drilled earlier
4: Allow to cool completely before screwing with it
5: Enjoy your slightly ugly but fully functional repair

Wow, I can't imagine portapros breaking since I fall asleep with them every night and roll around all over them. They got a lifetime warranty no questions asked, but seeing as this is /diy/ I would think you'd rather fix it yourself.

Did you see up the thread? It would cost me 30$ to get them repaired... aka almost the price of a new pair.

don't bother with glue or tape, use a 2 part epoxy, it's like liquid plastic

>> No.56970

I am a DIY retard trying to learn.

How do I even use Epoxy properly?

>> No.56975

>>56970
clean the surfaces with alcohol. you squeeze out the epoxy(comes out in 2 blobs) and mix it together. use it like glue, i'd put it in between the pieces (just glob it on), squeeze out the excess and kind of smear it around the seam for strength. let it sit until it cures (varying times) and you should be good to go.

mix the epoxy on something disposable, with something disposable because it will ruin whatever it gets on. Also it smells terrible.

Yeah but where it broke it's supposed to spin to fold the headphones.

I guess no more folding...

Not op but anyone have suggestions on how I can fix my HD555s?

epoxy

>> No.57199

Guys.

Guys.

Koss has a hurp durp warranty, you can destroy the fucking thing and send them back the bits and they'll send you a new pair.

As for the JVCs, lots and lots of hot glue. If you wanted them to look good you shouldn't have broke them in the first place.

>> No.57382

>>57199
Like I said, it cost more to send the Portapros then to buy a new pair.

Also, the wires are torn inside the JVC... I can't simply glue that shit back in. I need some way to rehook the wires...

>> No.58220

Gorilla glue is fucking intense shit.
Holds concrete to metal, just spread it on clamp it down tight and let it dry overnight.

I was going to give you some useful advice and offer to fix both your headphones for you if you mailed them to me, but then I saw french homework.

>> No.59683

Do you have a soldering iron? If so you can plastic weld them back together.
