Hey /diy/,
I need your expertise.

A friend of mine just sent this to me, she saw it posted on a website. It's a hookah/shisha (whatever you wanna call it) made from a Jack Daniel's bottle. I want to built this myself.

Pipes, bowls and trays are not a problem. I have plenty of those laying around here. The only problem is making those 2 holes in the bottle. What do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance

A dremel grinder and either a dremel press or a steady hand.

Buy 5 dollar hooka, pull top off, insert into JD bottle.
If you need to drill a hole in glass go to lowes and get yourself a diamond grit drill bit for tile, make sure you drill the hole in the bottle in your kitchen sink with a constant stream of water flowing onto the bit.

Hookah is the smoking implement, shisha is the tobacco that is covered in flavored stuff.

I just looked up the definition for both words on multiple sites and none of the definitions for either word mention the actual tobacco/molasses material you put into the pipe. Wtf?
Both definitions only talk about the pipe itself.

I think that's just the difference between "Definition" and "Common Useage."

ITT smokingfags that think they know shit about Shisha/Hookah when they don't even live in an Eastern country.

hookah is used in arab countries, shisha is used in iran and turkey (shisha means glas in persian)

This and this and this.

Also, all of that equipment and hose are from a ~$20 hookah. Decent gear, but I'd suggest getting a better hose for yours.

You are absolutely right. I learned something today.
I AM a smokefag, and I totally thought that was bs.
I think if you tried to talk to anyone in the united states and started interchanging the words for no reason they would get very confused very quickly, kinda like how that psyduck looks.

>Implying you need to be from an objects country of origin to know about it.
>Implying everyone uses the same/the original terminology for things.
>Implying all the countries which use Shishas as a common item use the same terms.

Everyone I know uses the terms interchangeably.
