Just wondering if anyone had any tips or design elements to help make an alcohol burning aluminum can stove more efficient, I'm trying to set up some sort of vortex to focus the heat. At the moment my design is a little like the one pictured. If anyone has tips or ideas on how to improve the efficiency or enhance the vortex effect I'd appreciate the help.

except for cooking food on hiking trails.

Actually, you are supposed to use those with a pot or pan which will rest on the top surface of the can and close off the hole in the middle. There's not supposed to be a vortex. It is supposed to jet out of the smaller holes on the sides at that time. In fact, raising the pot/pan higher above, with or without a vortex forming, is inefficient.

Most, but not all people, even those that make tutorials about these things usually get that part wrong.

As I understand it, this is THE design for one.
