Suggestions for rehabilitating an old hip flask? I found it in a storage unit, and it probably hasn't been used since the 1970s. I have no idea what kind of metal it is or how to figure out.

The sale of aluminum cookware is banned in some countries like France, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary and Belguim because it is a health hazard.

if it's crudded up, fill with very coarse sand, or sandblast grit, or a box of small nuts, and shake it for a long time.

Pewter is made with lead.
While it is still probably fine to drink out of (it takes a lot of lead to kill you) -- I wouldn't recommend it.

English Pewter contains no lead.
