I am a blackjack player and I will say that getting 1% advantages over casinos as a result of advantage playing (ie - card counting and kelly criterion betting on a solid foundation of basic strategy) is not friggin' worth the emotional rollercoasters and wild bankroll fluctuations that you will inevitably endure.

All that for one lousy percent advantage over the house. My savings account gives me 1.5% and I don't have to do anything.

I love the game... but I also hate it at the same time.

I feel like a skilled Texas Hold'Em player will do much better than a skilled blackjack player.

I took as many classes as I could in college getting my Engineering degree. Besides my day job which I make approx 88k a year, I also do freelance jobs online. Anything from web design to architecture. My grandpa runs a construction company building anything from houses, warehouses, to factories and I get 1-10k per blueprint a client uses. I'm starting to get into music production as well.

Excluding the 88k, I make about an extra 20-30k a year doing freelance. Still in the studio apartment I had in college, I save a lot but will be a shit ton saved once I pay my college loans off, I'll be saving 4-5k a month. Grew up poor and financial aid helped but I still have about 2 more years of $2,000 monthly payments.

Any way I can make more money? I hope have at least 250k saved in 5 years to buy land then I'm going to design my dream home; maybe find a girl to settle down with (because I haven't had one since I was 16)

What's marketable these days? Thinking of doing mobile apps but do people really buy them since you can google whatever.apk or jailbreak. Starting vocational school to spruce up my photoshop skills to help my web design (currently only helping people set up a forum for their website; would love to design). Music is going very well but I doubt niggers buy beats these days. I need tips.

Not really a gambler; would prefer something that for once, doesn't require a computer (gets extremely boring).

Thinking of starting my own contracting company doing home renovations. Couldn't be that hard to find Mexicans to do carpentry and paint.

Didn't bitcoins completely tank in value and a bunch of people lost hundreds of thousands of dollars of their investments in the process?

>> No.316183

I have a feeling the answer is "no", but I want to ask anyways because I could always be wrong:
Can bitcoins be exchanged into actual currency such as USD or JPY? Or is it a digital-exclusive currency?

>> No.316192

>>316183
They can be turned into currency via trading, but they tanked in value because the biggest trading website's security was basically made of prayers and daisy chains and some guy stole like a million dollars of bitcoins from everyone, then immediately sold them via the smaller trading sites for USD, and vanished. Because of the nature of BitCoin they were basically impossible to track, so they got off scot-free.

Bitcoin value tanked because of it and, last I heard, hadn't recovered. I don't think this is a place to try and get rich... unless you're in the opportunistic thieving business.

The risky route: Start your own business. MOST BUSINESSES FAIL, but for the small number that succeed, the payoff can be huge! 50% of all millionaires made their money as business owners who grew their businesses.

The safe route: Study towards a career with a demand: engineering, IT, accounting, and certain skilled trades. You will not become "rich", but you are more likely to succeed.

The hybrid route: Start your own business in a field where there is a demand. For example, become a medical doctor and start your own clinic.

>On the other hand, my grandfather had a plumbing business and made millions.

Starting a plumbing business is a sure way to get rich. An ex I had in high school; her father started a plumbing business (just local) and I remember her mom getting all excited saying they made $900,000 in profit their first year. They got a second house and she got a new car before she even got her lisense. Lucky bitch. The guy didn't have any experience in business management; he just got laid off and wanted to start his own.

Imagine starting a plumbing business and expanding to more than just one area. I remember watching Undercover Boss and a guy who ran a national plumbing business said he made like a billion every year in revenue. Don't know about profit but I bet it's a lot.

If you know plumbing well you should do this. Or you could always learn.

Buy a van or some sort of work vehicle. Buy all equipment. Start hiring people on Craigslist by just paying cash. Put ads in papers. Save up to start the actual business (an office or building, actual hired workers, etc.) Start making money.

My Uncle has a painting business but he's no millionaire. I'd say plumbing, electrical, or any general contracting company could make you money but you got to get your hands dirty until you save to hire more people.

so you need a bit of cash, but you dont have any eh? well not to fear, cause I am here to tell you step by step how you can earn up to $1200 a month. And the best part is, this plan is fool proof. all you really need is a social security card, a drivers license and a bit of social engineering.

first thing you do is you go to your local paper an look in the classified section. what you are looking for in particular is the help wanted section. once you find this section of the paper begin scanning it for any jobs that you feel that you are qualified for.

now here comes the tricky part. when you find a job that looks intriguing you go by an pick up a job application. this may take a bit of social engineering to get. first try asking for a job application and if that does not work, ask if you can have an application to fill out. now using your drivers license an ss# fill out the app and turn it in.

with any luck you will be called back with in the week. this is where the real social engineering takes place, convince these poor marks that you are the right man for the job. tell them about your interest and your experiences. when them over with your charm. always look them in the eye. with any luck you will be hired

now all you have to do is show up when your boss tells you to. do exactly what he tells you to do. you should be making over $1000 a month in no time.

Major tip on selling cardboard without ever having to do a bit of work for it

Order as many boxes of 25 free USPS boxes as you can fit into a car, there isn't even shipping costs so don't trip about it. Then fill your car up and take em down to the recycling yard.

Each Large Flat rate box of boxes weighs 17.8 pounds, price of cardboard in my area is 3 cents a pound. Thats about 50 cents for every box and if your taking in 30 boxes every time you'll make an easy $15. Repeat every time you feel you need some alcohol money. I just order about 75 boxes for the month and drop em off before I run out to grab a bottle

Knowing full well that some dumb fuck bouncer could give two shits about some punk outside a club calling him names, I did it immediately. It took me 2 seconds to do so, earning me the rate of $36,000/hr, presuming impossibly that I could continuously scream for the entire time using Kenny G circular breathing, or that my friend ran out of money.

My point of course is that I can't, and this idiot's cousin also can't while doing goddamn CAD drawings.

I just tire of the 12" internet cawk everyone has on 4chan, and everywhere else on the internet.

Go onto /fit/, 99% of anons have at least a 7" dick, are over 6' tall and can bench 300, DL 500 and squat 400.

Junk Hauler.

If you've got a van or a truck, go around an offer to clean out people's garages/basements for money. It's pretty solid job security because most people in America have more shit than they know what to do with and they want to get rid of all of it once they get bored and buy new stuff.

Look for good stuff to sell.

I did it for a summer (granted, I was hired by a company), and kept/sold some pretty sweet shit. You won't get rich, but you'll have extra cash.

If you have a bit of money to spend, then invest in some music equipment. You can make a good bit of money hiring out things like P.A systems, lighting rigs and amps to bands.
or if you have some room and some time you could make a home studio.
Just hiring them out you can make $100 per half hour, if you learn how to use all the gear you can even charge to mix and master it all, that adds about another $100 per half hour.
You could also build and sell things like cigar box guitars, beer can microphones or busking amps. they are pretty easy to make, half the time you can get the supplies for free and people pay good money for them because they have interesting sounds and looks.

Use programs like Malwarebytes,Super Anit-Spyware, MSE, Ccleaner, Spybot, ComboFix, D7. Msconfig the start up and services, uninstall junk programs, and do what else they need (Usually easy stuff). >> No.326085

>>326055
Not the same guy, but nope, it's not hard at all. In fact, the hardest part would be selling them in an oversaturated market.
You'll have to find a niche if you want to succeed. Try small local bands, or slightly bigger but unknown bands, they always have fucktons of fans, and they usually don't have a merch shop.
Also, try festivals and stuff. For example, last month my town celebrated the "Hake Festival" (lots of fishermen down here). I simply made shirts with a Hake fish, the name of the event and the date, and sold them for 10 bucks. Sold about 70, 700 bucks in under 2 hours.

Great idea bro.
But the problem is don't they have Official Merchandise? And if what I'm making is not isn't it illegal? If I get a permit though, they get a commission from my sales right?

Aside from that how can I make t-shirts is there some kind of a machine that I should buy?

>> No.326101

>>326099
Usually, little town festivals don't have official merch. What I'm saying, don't go and sell Metallica t-shirts in one of their concerts.
If you live in a big city, find what are the nearest little towns or villages, as they usually have a lot of festivals troughout the year.
Besides that, if they DO have official merch, you could go and offer your shirts to the organizer. Sometimes they're stuck with the only prick in town who knows how to make shirts and is charging them a lot. Compete with that prick.

Screen printing is super easy, you need little equipment, and most of it can be home-made. You'll have to buy the inks, tho, but they aren't so expensive. Start small, little designs with one color. Then move to bigger designs, then to 2 or 3 colors, etc. A little advice: Try to make your own designs in photoshop. Don't download the same, over-used stencil of the joker.
If you can, buy quality cotton shirts in various colors, don't invest too much at the beginning, and practice first with old shirts or rags.
You may reach a point where you can't handle the amount of shirts your client needs, and then you hire someone, but don't think about that now.
There are A LOT of screen printing tutorials online, even on youtube.

Find a niche, and that will almos guarantee you a job in shirt making.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee_8IMx0uMo

I remember I made a t-shirt like that before in high school as part of my classes. The problem is I am not good at drawing. I can draw but it is mediocre.
With photoshop I'm just average too. I learned it because when I'm still working as a marketing person I help the graphic artist design the company's posters etc.

Is there something like printing your designs on a t-shirt via a computer printer or a machine?

>> No.326109

>>326106
You can always look up a tutorial on "How to transform a photograph to a stencil" with photoshop.
You can make sort of a "collage" in photoshop with diferent pictures for a design, and then transform it into a stencil (you don't need to be so good with PS to do this!). Then you print it, put it on the screen-printing screen, apply the photo-sensible gel and wait for the design to transfer to the screen.
The result is a "template", you just put it on the shirt, and start applying ink.
If you still can't do that, ask a friend for help. You can even spend 1 or 2 bucks on an Indian dude to make you a design via webs like oDesk.

You cant print your designs on transfer paper, and then iron them to the shirt, but in my opinion, is ugly as fuck, and the design starts to fade after a few cycles of washing machine.

Give it a try, what could you lose? At most, 40 or 50 bucks. But that may be the difference between working at the grocery store and being your own boss in a t-shirt and apparel design small company.

And has to be really kawaii (cute). Also It has to be about 10-20 bux. And you have to post pics of it first (i want to make shure it's kawaii [cute]). And it would be nice if it came with matching chopstick holder (WITH chopsticks). OH! and it CANNOT have any cartoon pictures, or be made out of plastic. It has to be made of ceramic, or something like that. Also it would be nice if it was made in japan. and not in china or corea (Korea) or whatever. I have found a bento box similar to the one im describing in e-bay, but it was 1 kotoba, and i don't want my gohan (rice) to touch my other things (it can get wet and i would not like that, plus 2 compartments looks more kawaii)

Don't start a business selling stuff you love (like starting a game store as a fa/tg/uy) unless you are REALLY sure you can pull it off. I've befriended the people who own a local music (as in instruments) store that I'm pretty sure is failing, and it's painful to watch. Because they have to compete with the Guitar Center a few miles away they've dropped all their prices, so they only make like $20 on a $200 sale. They keep doing things like offering to set up my bass for free if I buy strings and I feel bad taking advantage of their desperation.

Would you say that if you intended to make your life and career as a truck driver and invest in turning that cab into your long term home, that you could have done things differently to live a relatively cheap and still fulfilling life?

I've seen some "super cabs" that were like miniature RVs. Kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, everything.

If you are willing to drop the money, you could have a very sweet long term home.

Your savings shouldn't be that low. If you are only saving 50k per year from 100k income (not sure how much you declare and how much you are taxed on), but you could probably increase that by at least 50% by cutting down your costs.

In general you should aim for 10k living costs per year (although for 1 person you can live on half that)

Make your car a mobile billboard, contact companys and ask if they would be interested in buying a spit on your car. Charge 75~200 or so a week, bam. Cash for just driving around. My buddy has 6 advertisers on his car, making just over 700 a week. Keep in mind location is key, and they usually ask your driving habits (do you do alot of city driving ect)

Do cosplay commissions. Alternatively, make pageant dresses and party dresses for the kids of rich people. They'll pay a lot.

Not that guy but I have a feeling that you're sorta romanticizing the job a little bit. Even with having essentially a mini RV you're still driving non stop every day on top of the mountain of other crap nearly every truck driver will bitch about.

Anyways with personality aside, nearly every truck driver I've ever seen while being paid at the same tier as many professionals look like the sorriest sacks of shit you've ever seen. I'm not saying this to be mean, it's the truth. And while I'm sure they're those that look great they're the minority. And I don't blame them one bit. It's the job. Given enough time it will destroy anybody.

after you sign up and make your profile look good, start off by writing about topics you know a lot about and branch out once you get a feel of what most people are looking for. If you enjoy writing it will be the easiest part-time/work at home job you can get so easy.
