I’m building a covered deck. It’s 24’ long and I’m putting a metal roof on it. Should I add 6” gable ladders for a roof overhang on either side, or leave the roof life flush with the deck?

For reference there is a 12” overhang on the eave. I’m torn because if I add gable over hangs, I have to buy another sheet of metal. Pls respond

I would say do the overhang. It looks better and you get less area around the edges getting hit with rain and sun
On my timber frame designs the bare minimum overhang is 1' past the posts, and is usually closer to 2' or 2'6. It just looks way better
