Anyone into robotics here? Was thinking about picking up

to learn some basic concepts. Anyone else into things of this nature and willing to suggest some books/etc?

I have that set OP. Check out the books for the set as well. It will help you a lot.

You can scale up to TETRIX with NXTs as well.

That being said, I would recommend something like Arduino + some other kit/parts instead.

I am interested in robotics, yes...

I always wanted to make robots.

Trust me, go with an Arduino and some simple electronics.

follow this advice. If you really want to be using some premade kit with standard parts, at least go with Vex. A lot more expensive but very high quality.

Look up B.E.A.M. robotics. Learn to build those - easy as fuck, solar powered, and you don't have kits so you feel a lot more accomplished

Yeah I might have done some minor robotics in highschool. I would recommend a Vex kit if you are just starting out, and also maybe a Boe-bot kit if you know a little bit or want to be a little more technical.
