I need to cut off a piece of steal that is about 1/8th inch thick.

i was thinking of attempting to use a mini stone grinding bit, and also a circular wheel, both on a hand held dremel tool. i have little fair in this actually working.

what ideas do u have?

pic related it the small pieces of steal that hold the wires for the shifters and derailures.

Also, fixiefag detected.
I refuse to help you.

If you are turning that in to a fixie please don't be a dick and cut off the cable guides. When you get tired of your fixie in a month an throw it out someone else can turn it back in to a normal bike. If you really want a fixie, get a real track bike.

is there some reason not to use a hacksaw?

This. Don't destroy something just to satisfy your misguided desire for "aesthetics".

What are the pros of having a fixie over a freewheel bike?

Outside of a track? Pretty much nothing.

Sorry, I love bikes. I hate it when people ruin a perfectly good fame to make their fixie (if it's just some shit ass Walmart frame go for it, but so many people ruin classic road bikes to do this.)

Get a frame without guides or buy someones elses fixie. I don't think fixies are even cool anymore so you can probably get them cheap.

Better yet, buy a single speed so it would actually be practical.

Are you cutting down a fork or seat post? I'd use a pipe cutter. Doesn't take that long and is hard to fuck up with
