Yeah, I was expecting a static "use google" image with "how to create animated gif" in the search bar.
First thing I thought when seeing that it's legit was "Huh? why would you go through the trouble making that gif when you could just say use google?"

I can't handle GIMP. I raged at it before because college only uses GIMP and you couldn't even click once that GIMP would already open.

There are tons of easier ways to make gifs though.
One can go to a site where he only needs to put the video, without any work. But hey! This is /diy/ so I am not going to talk about this anymore.
