As a college student I would probably end up getting new furniture when i moved out of my college town anyway. I personally like his ghetto shit and think its perfect for college. Bitches love that kinda shit and it gives you something to talk to them about pre-coitus.

>> No.206023

you can make one yourself.
you need 2 bicycles and an extra metal bar.
as for tools, you just need a grinder and a welding kit.
me, i don't know shit about welding, someone else helped me out there. but i cut the bikes, painted them, and set up everything else by myself.

nah, it's simple. i got it down after maybe 10 minutes.
all it is is you start out with both hands on each handlebar. NOT the seat. that's the mistake everyone makes before i correct them. then go far a little jogging start, put your opposite foot from the bike on the bottom frames' top bar, and swing your other leg over.
i don't know anything about horses, but i've been told it's basically the same as mounting a horse.

i got the inspiration to make my bike after meeting some cool dudes from LA at SXSW.
they make custom bieks and ride cross country & shit. it's awesome.
here's a video of them.

I finished my own tallbike just two hours ago. I rode it around for a few hours last weekend, then I decided to bolt a car battery and lights from a police car to it.

I get about two feet, came crashing down and fucked up my knee really good. Its really top heavy, and hard to get it moving with that big lead acid battery.

The pan has gotten better, and I can limp at at a reasonable speed, but the worrying thing is this crazy spasm in one of the muscles of my lower leg if I put weight on it the wrong way.

i've heard of some people taking nasty falls from tallbikes, and even just normal bikes.
i'm really lucky, i guess. i've fallen off many times and this is the worst i've gotten (see pic).
the worst potential accident i had was when i was going to turn at an intersection, and i hit a car because i wasn't paying attention and that road usually had no traffic. i have no brakes on mine, so i couldn't stop the back tire with my foot in time and hit the car dead on and flipped over it. i was completely fine though. the car was too. all that was messed up was my front tire and my fork.

>>206040 hit a car because i wasn't paying attention and that road usually had no traffic

I did the exact same thing two summers ago. I had nothing but bruises, but the car's windshield, hood, and bumper were smashed up. I had to pay the driver $2300. I should have just taken off, but a lot of bystanders insisted I wait for paramedics (cops) to check me out, and they took my info.

>>206042
that sucks. i was so fucking lucky. i was completely okay, i landed on my ass and hopped right up, and the car was literally spotless. no idea how it worked out like that. it was actually a really exciting experience, kinda glad it happened. i have a cool story to tell now.
but yeah, i'd say because i was riding my tallbike and not my normal bike, i was probably safer. since i was so high up, i just went over the car, not under it.

i know some Portland tallbike riders. but most of 'em i've met were either from LA or Austin.

this is an mspaint drawing of my next project.
it's a surfbike. basically the platform in between the seat and the handlebars i can stand on when i'm just cruisin' downhill or whathaveyou.
oh, and the giant box on the back with be my speaker. you gotta have music if you're going to be travelling cross country.

The rear triangle of the top frame just made a simple place to stick the battery. It's still forwards of the rear axle, so it doesn't make falling over backwards any worse than before.

I think if the next test ride ends in disaster I'll weld a platform for the battery under the bottom frame.
