Assuming you're not caring about the legality of it, keep shit wet and wear a proper respirator the entire time. The risk with asbestos is when stuff gets in the air and generally speaking you need more than a few particles in your lungs to do any real damage. The people who are getting hurt by asbestos or people who work with it on a regular basis not homeowners who happen to break a tile off of their roof. P100 filters should be good enough and you can find them on Amazon for far less than you might expect given the 'Rona Apocalypse.

It's not, use a respirator and eye protection for the dust, hose it down to limit the dusting, that's about it. Asbestos is chemically inert, as long as you don't get the fine particulate in your lungs (hence the respirator) it is totally harmless. In fact if properly maintained asbestos makes for a good roofing, the healthfags are just having a kneejerk reaction because it was ignored as a risk for so many years.

Asbestos is way more dangerous for smokers bringing their hands near their mouths and nose and inhaling the particles with their smoke and breathing. Your body can't break it down and you have a hard time expelling it with tar filled lungs and paralyzed cilia. People working with it regularly need to treat it like a hazardous substance because continual exposure increases chance of getting some permanently stuck in your lungs. Wear a respirator and tyvek and eye protection if you can. strip and shower outside, straight into the trash bag with clothes. Gg no re.

Check the rules and laws
do when wet/damp to cut down on fibers, suggest active misting or rain if you can
wear cloths that you plan to toss when done and don't leave the job site wearing them
wear full mask P-100 or better is required!!!
recommend eye protection and googles under neither
wash down before leaving site, then wash down again, then shower thoroughly
research how to do it right

I studied Ceramic Nano Hazards in college, they had a whole two week section just for asbestos. Can't pay me enough to deal with it. If forced I would do full hazard setup. Even a small exposure can be bad as fiber can circulate inside repeatedly breaking DNA again and again till statistically one of those makes a cancer cell that goes nuts and kills you. People's anecdotal stuff don't make it safe, just proves some get lucky.

Nah, asbestos still find use in gaskets, brakes, idk, electric insulation material, siding, roofing. Asbestor fire proof cords.
Just everything except asbestos snow, because we don't need asbestos snow, since we have real snow.
Ppl tend not to install asbestos indoor. But during demolition (shitter rooms used asbesos sheets), nobody is using gas mask... Because gas mask is asbestos.
Asbestos is everywhere. You can't escape asbestos. Because it is naturally the best material.
New subway trains have asbestos for fire proofing I think. At least old ones had asbestos.
Think about it. On one hand you have fucking moisture resistand drywall... And on other you have chad indestructable asbestos. Which one is better? Naturally asBESTos.
>>2025938
Siding - hardie board, or fiber cement in general. Cellulose-cement I think it is.
Idk about plain sheets (those 5 mm ceramic tile bases) because cement board isn't exactly your fiber cement sheet. CFC, compressed fibre cement?
Roof? Eternit in UK.
I think only Australia into fiber cement, because nothing PVC will survive their harsh sun.
Idk, people seem to be afraid of any cementicious material it seems.

How Bad Is One-Time Exposure to Asbestos?

One-time asbestos exposure generally is not a serious risk, except in extreme circumstances where toxic dust clouds the air. Asbestos-related diseases are usually caused by months or years of regular workplace exposure.

If you were exposed to asbestos for one day, the risk to your health depends on how much dust you inhaled.

Was the asbestos-containing product damaged or crumbly?
Was it scraped, smashed, drilled or sawed?
Was the area poorly ventilated?

If the answer is yes, and you did not take safety precautions, then you likely inhaled a substantial amount of asbestos dust.

Don’t panic. Asbestos exposure will not have any immediate impact on your health. If it ever affects you, it will take years for symptoms to arise. Make sure your doctors are aware of the event so it is in your medical history. Avoid any further asbestos exposure in the future.
Short-Term Exposure Fast Facts

Light, short-term exposure rarely causes disease
A one-off exposure from do-it-yourself renovation is not a major risk

not even remotely enough to be a concern, unless you have any reason to believe there was asbestos material in the garage, all of the dust you swept up should have just been normal house dust, outside dust, and car dust.
