How the hell do I unscrew this?

That's a dark as fuck picture, but I assume it's similar to the ones I had.

That bottom nipple should unthread allowing the whole glass bowl to drop down.

Are you in the US? If so the glass is threaded backwards, you've got to spin the bowl clockwise to loosen it

The nipple is the piece of pipe that round thing is threaded on to. The round thing is called a ferrule. Unscrew the ferrule and the globe (glass) will come down. Don't drop it.

You learned the names of lamp parts today anons. Say them back now.

By not having soft, ineffectual girl hands. It's just a piece of plastic catching like 3 threads. Use pliers if you must. Hold the globe with your other hand while you fuck with it or else you'll probably break it off and drop the globe.

>>1832845
The nipple is the threaded pipe bit, just like in plumbing. The misnomer comes from the fact that the globe with the ferrule on it looks like a boobie. But the nipple is the pipe piece.

>>1832851
It's called a ferrule. But special nipple wrenches are a real thing, if you wanted to know.

You don't rotate the glass, you turn the metal bit at the end.

Looks like that fake glass some companies use. It looks and feels exactly like real glass but it's actually plastic. You'll have to squeeze the sides really hard so it deforms enough the tabs on the sides can slide out of their sockets. Might need a large clamp to do this.

The previous owners of my place had unscrewed some of the lights in several fixtures the night before possession. It's a harmless prank so I had a good chuckle.

The bathroom water damage they successfully hid from me, not so much.
