if you have a tall building/bridge and the materials, do the math and see if you can make it a series of cuts with more wires and ropes around limbs and joints, go out in style as true modern art of body parts hanging from building
If that's not realistic, just do 1 wire, 2 ropes to leave a head and torso handing separate, but fill your pockets with firecrackers and soak in gasoline and light it right as you jump. Excluding nuts who claim to make a statement with it due to religion or political identity shit, who leave only some hand written note or blog post, no one even "makes a statement"/"sends a message" to anyone other than some small meaningless group.
If I check out for a dumb reason, I'd at least max out a card to buy a FM transmitter, post signs in the area about when to tune in, scatter leaflets stapled to cash in the wind, shoot fireworks to gain audience/readers, and call media and give a speech over radio from somewhere high. Or dress as a furry and drown in a self locking giant jar of apple juice in front of an Apple iStore as a live televised "failed magic trick", depending on the day.

If this is for hanging then the rope should be stretched & soaked before use. Steep the rope the day before in water (warm) to loosen the fibers; this is done because rope has a tendency to stretch with exertion. After wetting, leave to dry in a warm place & it will be good for the following day.

The key to hanging is to break the neck.

If the neck is not broken; then you die by strangulation. The carotid arteries in the neck, which supply blood to the brain, are compressed, & the brain swells so much it ends up plugging the top of the spinal column; the Vagal nerve is pinched, leading to something called the Vagal reflex, which stops the heart; & the lack of oxygen getting to the lungs due to compression of the trachea eventually causes loss of consciousness due to suffocation.

Drop height has to be taken into account. Too short & the person suffocates; too big & there is a chance of decapitation.

The ideal ratio for a neck snap during hanging is 3/4 of the body length of release (extra rope).

The feet should be ideally 6 inches from the ground upon completion.

A "Hangmans Knot" is the best one for this to work & videos on youtube is a click away for detailed descriptions of how to make one.

Knot placement is also essential. The ideal placement is about 2 inches behind the left ear front facing. If you think of the head in a clock format; ears being 9 - 3 respectively, forehead at 6 and spine at 12; the placement of the knot would therefor be between 10-11.

This places the knot in the correct position to break the neck on impact.

A broken neck is almost instantaneous & therefor painless to the person. In this position even if the drop was miscalculated then unconsciousness would take about 10 seconds & death in about 3 minutes.

If the height is too great; there is a good chance of decapitation; also virtually instantly but a lot more gruesome.

Body weight 14.0 Stone / 89KG = 131cm drop for a neck break.
