Hey /diy, i got this ergoarm thingie and I need to put my 13" drawing tablet on it, but I'm not sure how, since the tablet doesn't have vesa screw holes, I was thinking about gluing a plank to the back of the tablet and then screwing the holes in, but that may prove fairly destructive for the tablet/backplate, do you have any other inexpensive ideas?

make a wooden frame that holds it?

I'm not very handy with making that kind of stuff, but i'll note that down as a possible solution.

I know it's not DIY but VESA tablet mounts are a thing and they're usually pretty cheap

Hi anon, to avoid wrecking the tablet buy a tablet case and then attach the wood to the back of the case so you can screw the mount into it. This will allow you to quickly remove the tablet from the mount and keep it in mint condition. Best of luck.

unfortunately there is no case for this kind of a tablet, it's not meant to be portable, but thanks for the suggestion

i've seen some, but they get quite pricey, especially with shipping and by the looks of them i'm not very sure they would fit the frame of the tablet anyways or hold it securely.
Do you think strong double sided tape could be an option here? i've seen some able to hold up to 6kg, the tablet is about 1,5/2kg

Get a case, glue shit to the case instead of the actual tablet

Get a four point scissor arm phone holder. I'm sure larger ones exist.

Use that to create a mounting point.

If you have woodworking skills, you could build a tablet housing. Mathias made a holder for his iPad a few years ago.

just put four little dabs of this on the corners of the mount, it'll hold forever and come off clean with a stanley blade

That's what I do for my notebooks, phones and tablet. RAM mounts abound on Ebay and make a great DIY "mount anything" system.

I have the dual-monitor version of that arm. I have one holding my iPad right now in a mount that was $12 on Amazon. If I was going to DIY a mount for a Wacom, I'd make a holder with four large corner rubber bands and a stock VESA mount. One caveat, unless you are standing up, the swing arm isn't likely to be comfortable to draw on, they don't usually go low enough for good ergonomics.
