Post houses and buildings youd like to live in. Rooms and stuff i guess count
I know this is a painting but id love to build a house like this someday. Il never be able to afford land with a river like tgat and bricks are expensive but its nice to dream.

Place over here is nice also, bit too close to the neighbors and not enough privacy but it seems like a nice area.

Another neat stone house. The fence doesnt really go with it and the windows dont have shutters but you cant win all the time.

Only if you want to live there. Thats a pretty nice looking place.

Heres a shower. I dont think a shower or bathroom would ever be a make or break but a nice one goes a long way

I would love a full-room shower like that but a friend of mine had a house with 3 shower heads and if you used them all at once you only had 5 minutes of hot water. Still an all-tile bathroom is cool.

I think i have the same idea. I guess youd need several water heaters to keep it up.
I guess its weird but i think it would make sense for multiple people to shower at once in something that big.
Would be nice if i were rich or had a harem. No matter the size of the shower all tile is the way to go. Ive renovated 3 showers at varies times and ive alwaya gone with tile.

Not a huge for of A frame houses but something like this as a mother in law suite or a lake house would be neat. I think A frames waste a lot of internal space.

yeah I hear it's not up to code anymore but it's been that way for 48 years so I think it'll be fine. Besides, I'll be using my projector instead of the fireplace most of the time

Thats a good use for the space. I always thought projectors were better than a tv in most instances.
Where do you store firewood when you do use it? I had slate floors growing uo so we just stacked a few armfuls next to the fireplace. Ive never been a big fan or carpet but if it works for you.

Some kind of mansion. I dont hate it but im not sure i love it. Id want something changed but i cant put my finger on it.

Throw some cardboard down and put a rack over it maybe. Not pretty but it should work good enough.

I think ive just got a fetish for brick houses because its not nearly the worst ive seen. Theres some decent symmetry to it at least.
Can you try to find a pic of a mcmansion type house you dont hate?

I like this one more. Shutters are sized correcrly for the windows, roof lines are consistent, garage doors fit the style.

>> No.1700778

that one's okay but half the windows are squared and half rounded. The previous one's roof was a clusterfuck and the garages were excessive.

I agree with you there. The first one looks like they just extended the roof at random. I tjlught all the windows were squared but they snuck a round one inside.
I need to pay more attention to these, i only really looked at the round windows and shutters. My mind skipped the other ones.

Another house on a river. It at least looks nice from this angle.

Sucks things cost so much money. Really all this is just a fun fantasy for me, kind of like looking at sports cars or something. Maybe one day il have a few mil burning a whole in my pocket.
Im sure it would be a huge pain. Isnt ivy pretty damaging?

Maybe its just brick i like because im not a big fan of this one. It reminds me of the houses that just have a stone front and wooden sides/everything else. Might be the trim on it.

it's because it's shaped like a generic development ranch house. 'L' shape with low pitch roofs. A little narrower than a typical ranch which makes it more cottage like, but not enough.

>>1701297
try faux beams too. Never liked cathedral ceilings much as they're inefficient in heat and space though.

I've always liked traditional wood houses, from cottages to Victorians. They're just so much better looking than any generic vinyl bullshit that's mass produced today. Pic related, slowly transforming my 60s ranch into a little traditional cottage. In the end the only thing that'll give it away will be the roof pitch

Well fuck, i shouldve been able to guess that. I thought there was a real name for it.
I understand the heat and space argument but they just do it for me. In reality i think i like the idea of them more.

The cottage is coming along very nice. Keep it up man. I grew up in bigger houses and my aunts and uncles always had a place on the larger side so i prefer that over ranchers. Most modern cookiecutter house today make me sad.

I am partial to lofts though, nice and cozy. I think my main issue with vaulted ceilings is when people just rock over them. Needs some trim to liven things up.

Thanks man. More space wouldn't hurt, but it's perfect for just me and there's plenty to keep me busy. Now if a girl comes along, there might be some issues...

Damn thats nice. Id like it if more houses were built like this today. Im not going to say everything new is bad and everything old is good but seeing new construction and walking around more modern houses i feel like quality isnt as high. I guess i can understand maximizing floorspace for your budget but a lot of it just doesnt give me the vibe it will last 3 generations.
