Which weighs less? An 18v battery on a job site or 200 feet of outdoor rated extension cords on Venus?

How about a 3.0Ah 18V battery on a job site versus a 5000w generator with 6gal of gasoline and a single 50ft extension cord on Neptune?

The generator has 2 wheels.

i despise boomers so goddamn much

i work with 3 of the most intolerable idiots. all 3 are over 70, all 3 have a personal vendetta against anyone under 40. all 3 think they know everything. they all skew the truth and lie so much they believe themselves. they talk shit about everyone, anyone who isnt around. and the funny part is all 3 dont have a fucking clue what theyre doing, they're just good at bullshitting the boss so he thinks they are the smartest guys around

the one who is supposed to be a wizard of a mechanic, (2 mechanics on shift me
+ him) was doing brakes on a trailer. big live bottom revolving floor trailer with air brakes. anyways the stemco wheel hub, he didnt even put a gasket on it he just gobbed on a bunch of fucking clear silicone. like fucking kitchen and bath silicone. it leaked all its oil out sitting in the yard and the boss made me replace them all

we had the shit to make a new gasket, it takes 2 seconds. i mentioned it to him
and he said nah silicones better. i assumed he would at least use RTV, i dont even know where he found kitchen and bath silicone

The boss at my job was born in WW2. As soon as you enter her office you know you are loosing 45 mins to "back in my day" or "Why do they need to fix the excavator? They can just use pick axes" and you loose 15 mins trying to explain that we only have 2 guys on that team, which are an operator and his spotter and they are not going to be able to do nearly enough work with 2 people and pickaxes compared to a 30 ton excavator.

Those are the kind of people who will get by for decades by blaming the new guy for their fuckups. Each new guy the boss gets conned into firing reinforces the myth of their irreplaceable expertise.

>Yep. Kids these days. We're the last generation that knows anything.

I think this shit has been going on for many, many generations.

In their day, the old guys were Greatest Generation. The ones who were born in the 1920s, lived through the Depression and War, and worked their asses off to learn from the old farts.

The Baby Boomers were born during and after the war. They got handed everything they wanted and grew up watching TV. They heard from rock and roll never to trust the old farts, sat on their asses getting high, and never learned a damn thing.

Now they're old and think that automatically makes them competent. But they never did any of the things that would have made them like those old guys of their day. They think it's an endowment from the mother spirit.
