There’s no way I get it, but I tried to bullshit my way through the application so maybe I can get an interview and show them my Power Probe.

All the different truck makes, I think it’s these JPro plugs.

I use Texa, a Italian egineering team produced some next level software. It blows jpro, pro link away. IDC 5 with a bluetooth box for communication. I pay 1000 usda a year for free updates every couple weeks. They are always making IDC 5 better.

Pro link is ok, but snap on nickle and dimes you to death with chapters when ever they deem necessary.

I also have NAVKAL and diamondlogic software.

Being a hobbyist mechanic is a dieing thing with all this software. You have to a trouble code tree or software like all data or mitchells or all youll be doing is changing brakes

I’m more of a small gov’t guy, but I hope the courts keep these corporations in check with their software BS. Just follow along with the farmers vs John Deere. They are going to fuck over anybody who isn’t part of a big money company if they don’t give owners and small time repair guys a little bit of room. Hell, our little fleet department barely touches any of that stuff these days, shitty new trucks are back at the dealer for a two weeks every couple of months and now it’s the busy season and we had to grab half a dozen tractors from a rental place.

>>1601264
Cars are consumable appliances these days. Unless you’re a tuner, just replace the goddamn parts and keep it running like OE.

why don't you just do it yourself? It's not hard.

>tfw the other mechanic today was asking me if I ever thought about coming over to the greasy side
He’s the supervisor guy there, but I need to make it past upper management without any real shop experience. I think people are slow to apply because they want a Class A license and most diesel techs don’t have that, and the ones that have a Class A plus certs plus experience are asking for stupid money. But at $27.50/hr, I would take that and try to learn some shit. That’s a lot better than the lube tech at Jiffy Tech is making and I get to keep all my benefits staying with the company.

We’ll see though. I don’t have tons of confidence right now but they have been dealing with so many shitheads in fleet so I gotta convince them to pick me over dude with experience who is going to quit in 60 days or get caught forging PM paperwork and sleeping in the back like the past few people.
