This is a terrible design for long term storage, there is no where for moisture to go.

Root cellars work because they reach an equilibrium with humidity so your moist stuff does not dry out and your dry stuff does not go soggy and mold. This would work as you use your fridge, short term only unless everything is in jars or the like.

Anyone who mistakes this for a root cellar will be quite disappointment.
