Need to move a shitload of water on a budget. If i were to run this wire 1,000 feet from a 110v outlet could i power a small electric water pump?

If so what size?

Should i knock it down to 12?

Probably. But who the fuck knows since you didn't specify pump's power.

>> No.1481999

Just go buy a gas water pump. They are only a couple hundred and will move a shit load of water fast

>16 gauge wire
>1000 feet, 110v
>speaker wire, not wire designed for actual electrical use

Assuming it's 15 amps Because 120v, at 1000 feet you'd need minimum 0 gauge [PURE COPPER] to have less than 3% loss so your shit don't over current. no aluminum, no copper clad unless you wanna go up to 0/3+ gauge. It's gonna run you about, uh, 2500 bucks. Each spool. You need 3.

Then what the fuck is it for? Are not speakers electrical?

>>1482243
>Assuming it's 15 amps
You can't get 15 from a 15 amp residential breaker.

What would over current? A full induction squirrel cage motor? And where does one get 0 gauge in awg? Also aluminum is a far better conductor, just need a wrap kit if you transition. Where do you come up with this drivel? Not saying op should do it but you sir have 0 communication skills. Probably cause what he said
>>1481982

OP just use a generator or a gas pump. Stop talking to retards.

NO U!

I can't afford 1,000 gallons of gas and 2 or 3 motors to burn up and also a pump. Bit i do have a deisle and there is offroad deisle at wirk so I'm getting a $200 2" pump that is ran by a V-belt for i can take it off and just run it 1 or 2 times a year.
