Looks very comfy, please post more pics.

Why not add a RONJA node? Especially if you have line of sight to your home it can be a nice way to establish a fast point to point link.

Add a KiwiSDR and join the sdr.hu network. It does require an internet connection. See if you can get someone on another mountain top to join this net, optionally via a link (optical or radio) from your node.

Add a lightening receiver node
http://en.blitzortung.org/cover_your_area.php

Add a weather station.

Build a passive radar, a mountain top is an excellent site for that.

This. If the tower's there, and you've got power available, there's $$$ to be had.

If you've got good network available, there's even more $$$. You'll need at least commercial cable to even consider selling bandwidth though.

Isn't it better to monitor current and voltage characteristics to see if one light source is about to blow? Tricks like that are used to monitor magnetrons so that you can replace them before they blow.

BTW how tall is the tower?

My tower is about 200. The stations is 1800. There is another 150 footer off to the side that I climbed and put a camera on. Ran up cat6 and everything. I tried to ping in on my laptop.. and got nothing. Camera was fried. Moral of the story is check the camera before the climb.

In that case you could install a KiwiSDR with a long antenna that would emphasise the lower parts of the HF band, probably well into LF. Might need traps to reject MW broadcasting stations swamping the ADC though.

I remember Comcast before it was Comcast would have channel that would spike with modems block syncing on upstream. They connected SLM, set it to spectrum on that channel and actually broadcasted a feed of the camera pointed at the meter.
